Crop And Save
A Star Is Born (2018)
Unoriginal Artistic Garbage
This movie came highly over-rated as 4 stars on my Cable Guide.
Very unrealistic storyline of Cindarella + American Idol + Hollywood = Crap.
WAY too much singing - and most of the songs were not very good at all.
And I still do not understand the ending. Some kind f'ing artistic statement? Must have won awards - I hate the film industry today.
Mediocre at best. Unwatchable for a second time.
The Equalizer 2 (2018)
No Story, No Characters, Just CIA Killings and a young blood
Wow, what a disapointment.
No real bad guys. No real characters. Pale shadows of the first one. A cookie cutter plot with the usual violence. Not even as COOL!
-1 stars. Don't bother.
Sadistic and Awful
There is a certain level of violence that I personally have a problem with watching on screen.
This movie pushes that level way beyond the limit for 'normal' people.
I won't describe it - suffice to say that it is more proper for a dismemberment horror film.
It's also incredity stupid, improbably, and the plot is flawed in huge ways.
How did a society deveop from chaos and plague? It just happens to look EXACTLY like Mad Max, but way more sick and sadistic?
Also, where did they get electricity and fuel and gas? It makes ABSOLUTELY no sense.
Add to that a myriad of other factors, and this movie is not only stupid, flawed, and sadistic, but an error in film making technique. i.e. Note to self - what NOT to do when making a film.
American Dreamz (2006)
Most under-rated film out there
I loved this movie, from the first time I saw it, and every subsequent viewing.
I think Omar is my favorite character - his performances were my fav's.
Overall, the movie is unshakeable, funny, endearing, and piercing, all at the same time. Not one to miss!
The Hot Chick (2002)
Possibly the best Rob Schneider film...
Rob Schneider puts in prob the best acting perf. of his career in this film... Cheesy at many points, but one of the few awesome films of the past 20 years.
The Book of Eli (2010)
Premise and Plot Fundamentally Flawed
I am going to be a nit-picker here, so please forgive my academic critique of this film's main premise / plot.
*** Spoiler Alert ***
The final scene reveals that there is already an English translation of the Tanahk - The entire Old Testament - on the bookshelf of the printer.
The Tanahk (T for "Torah", the 5 Books of Moses, N for Nevi'im "Prophets" and K for Ketuvim "Writings" ) contains the entire Bible before the New Testament. Why the New Testament, and not the Old, would be the savior to mankind is a bit of a reach, for me, as a philosopher and a scholar. (And there is no explanation in the film, either.)
('The Lord is my Shephard...' is in Psalms 23 - which is in the third part of the old testament. That is the quote he reads to Solara in the cave...)
So, the point being to get a copy of the 'King Jame's Bible' to the West, when there is already a translation there of the Jewish scriptures, seems to overlook the entire point of the Bible, and its influence through History, in general.
And, there was NO explanation of the importance of the new testament as opposed to the old. So that final scene, where we see the 'English' Tanahk on the bookshelf, totally destroys the entire plot and premise of the entire film!
That being said, I still enjoyed the film, and the big reveal at the end about Denzel (not gonna say here!) was pretty cool and would even enjoin me to watch the film again, if the plot was not so ridiculously and fundamentally flawed.
Explains why it got canceled...
I have watched Adult Swim for years on a nightly basis, but have never come across this episode in the 5 years since it was released... I admit, I only caught the last 15 min, which should have been the climax, but instead was boring, words were spoken-sung, with no hint of melody or operah, there as no fantastic guitar music, as in EVERY other episode made, and it all centered around a heavy religious / messianiac theme, with their manager as some sort of Super New Pope? The episode sucked (I assume - the entire ending was unbearable to watch and endure listen to) and THAT IS EXACTLY WHY the series got canceled! Why has no one ever said this, online? I had no idea until this very moment. Metal. was my fav. show of all time, it disappeared, and only 5 years do find out why. What a horrible joke, and a humiliating episode for everyone involved. I feel like f'ing puking.
Atomic Blonde (2017)
Worst Movie of the Year
This was, hands down, the worst movie of the last two years.
I actually was laughing out loud at the dialogue, plot twists, make-up, music, acting, directing, etc. (And there was nothing else entertaining in the film, so I was just trying to get to the end.)
Anybody else notice that there were multiple actors from 'Total Recall' in this film? (The original.) I am assuming there was a producer who was in both?
Anyway, nothing makes sense, it is painful to watch, and I would strongly advise skipping this one entirely. So dumb, so bad, it is beyond my current grasp of words to describe accurately. (There was that stupid and ugly lesbian they throw in - i mean, geez...)
Don't watch. Bad producers, Directors, all the way down the line.
