Facebook Cancels ‘Sorry For Your Loss’ & ‘Limetown’ As It Scales Back Scripted Efforts Amid Unscripted Push
Exclusive: Facebook Watch has opted not to renew its original series Sorry For Your Loss, starring Elizaeth Olsen, for a third season and Limetown, headlined by Jessica Biel, for a second. The critically praised Sorry For Your Loss is being shopped around, I hear.

Facebook Watch still has several scripted series in the pipeline, which will be released as planned. Going forward, the company will be pairing down significantly their scripted development efforts. Word around town is that Facebook is leaving the scripted business. Sources close to the situation indicate that Facebook is not closing the door completely on original scripted programming if the right project came along but its focus is shifting to unscripted fare where it’s had more success and better traction with Facebook users.

Among Facebook Watch’s most popular originals are the Daytime Emmy-nominated Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith as well as Returning the Favor with Mike Rowe.

On ‘Cobra Kai,” Things Are Getting ‘Dangerous’ For William Zabka

When William Zabka was cast in the role of Johnny Lawrence in 1984’s The Karate Kid, it’s safe to say the last thing he was thinking about was how he would play the character as a middle-aged man 35 years later. Fate works in mysterious ways, however, and that’s exactly what he finds himself doing, [...]

The Five Best Peyton List Movies of Her Career

It’d be nice if Cobra Kai season 2 counted as a movie since Peyton List has proven that she can be the good girl as she was on Jesse, but she can also be the ultimate bad girl that she became when playing the part of Tory. That sudden shift from good girl to bad is a big part of how she’s managed to convince people that she’s a worthy actress and as a result has become someone that’s definitely grown and expanded her repertoire in a very interesting way. Some actors can switch gears like this and make it

Watch This Cobra Kai Blooper Reel Just Because

Cobra Kai never dies! Okay so that doesn’t really rhyme, but maybe it can be an acceptable blooper since the video of the bloopers is kind of funny but also shows that the cast do know how to have fun on occasion and that accidents are bound to happen. It’s a show about people kicking the hell out of each other every now and again so yes, the choreography notwithstanding there are bound to be a few ‘oopsies’ here and there. Thus far Cobra Kai has been one of the absolute best returns from the 80s and it’s brought back

The show, which has the working title “James Charles Instant Influencer,” is slated to debut in the spring of 2020 on Charles’ YouTube channel with episodes to be released weekly. Charles will host, direct and executive produce the series.

YouTube is funding the four-part series as part of its revamped originals strategy, focusing less on scripted fare and more on personality-driven, music and learning content, with all original programming being made available on the free, ad-supported service.

“Ever since I entered the beauty space three years ago, I’ve dreamed of producing my own beauty competition show,” Charles told Variety. “It’s a dream come true… It’s such an amazing opportunity for [YouTube] to take it above and beyond what we expected.

‘Liza on Demand’ Season 2 Has YouTube’s Most-Watched Original Debut to Date (Exclusive)

  • Variety
YouTube claims its new windowing strategy for originals — making them available to watch free, with ads, for everyone — is delivering big audiences just as execs hoped.

Season 2 of “Liza on Demand,” the sitcom starring and co-created by popular YouTube comedian Liza Koshy, scored more views for debut episode “Naked” in its first week than any of the video platform’s original series to date. In the episode, through a series of mishaps, Koshy’s character accidentally finds herself nude in public — and she later strips bare on a city street in a bid to prove she has nothing to hide.

Across all episode 1 debuts for YouTube Original shows, “Liza on Demand” had the biggest debut ever with 25 million views in the first seven days (Sept. 25-Oct. 1), according to YouTube. “Cobra Kai” season 2, a spinoff of the “Karate Kid” movies, previously held the seven-day record with 21 million views in April 2019, followed

‘Snowpiercer’ Saga Continues as Show Returns to TNT For Spring 2020
The latest chapter in the fascinating offscreen saga that is the television adaptation of Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 film “Snowpiercer” has unfolded, this time in the form of the Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs-led series moving back to TNT — after it was announced just five months ago that the series would be airing on its sister network, TBS.

It was back in November 2016 that TNT announced that had greenlit the pilot for the “Snowpiercer” adaptation, and since then, the series has gone through two showrunners, two directors, and now two network changes. “Creative differences” is a phrase that has been uttered about the making of the show, and it has been long-delayed—now scheduled for a premiere sometime during Spring 2020—but that didn’t prevent TBS from, at the time, renewing the yet-to-premiere series for a second season.

In a statement about the move, TNT, TBS, and TruTV President Kevin Reilly

Obliterated: TBS Orders Drama Series From Cobra Kai Creators

Alec Bojalad Oct 2, 2019

After Snowpiercer got bumped back to TNT, TBS has and ordered its first drama series from the creators of Cobra Kai.

TBS's recent acceptance of drama series was no fluke as it turns out. After upcoming apocalyptic drama Snowpiercer was handed back to TBS's drama-centric WarnerMedia partner TNT, the network announced that it has ordered dramedy Obliterated, straight to series.

Obliterated will be written and executive prodcued by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, who all created YouTube's successful Karate Kid followup, Cobrai Kai. Sony Pictures Television will produce as will Counterbalance Entertainment's Dina Hiller. The series falls under a deal that the Cobra Kai team has with Sony TV. Cobra Kai season 3 has been confirmed and is awaiting a release date.

“As TBS’ brand continues to evolve, our primary focus of late has been for us to find dramas that are as much

‘Snowpiercer’ TV Series Moves Back to TNT

  • The Wrap
WarnerMedia has reversed course, moving its “Snowpiercer” adaptation back to its original network: TNT.

The drama, which has a two-season order, is still on track to debut next spring. Earlier this year, “Snowpiercer” was moved from TNT, where it had been initially developed, over to TBS.

“We’ve had the unique opportunity to more thoroughly test and explore where this show will best perform. While we are still adding dramas to TBS (such as ‘Obliterated’), after further research and consideration we’ve decided to keep ‘Snowpiercer’ on TNT,” said Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer, HBO Max and president, TNT, TBS, and truTV. “Now that we’ve seen this incredible post-apocalyptic sci-fi series in its entirety, and better understand the audience this show will appeal to, we’re confident it will perform strongest on TNT.”

TBS Orders ‘Obliterated’ Drama Series From ‘Cobra Kai’ Creators & Sony TV

  • Deadline
TBS has given a straight-to-series order to Obliterated, a 10-episode one-hour action drama from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald and Sony Pictures Television where the trio is based.

This marks the first series order for TBS this cycle and the second drama series pickup for the once-comedy-focused TBS following the May announcement that upcoming sci-fi drama Snowpiercer was moving from TNT to TBS. Update: Shortly after the Obliterated pickup announcement, WarnerMedia revealed that the decision to move Snowpiercer has been reversed, and the drama will air on TNT as originally planned.

Written and executive produced by Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald, Obliterated is a serialized action dramedy focused on an elite special forces team tracking a deadly terrorist network, hell bent on blowing up Las Vegas. After their raging end-of-mission party filled with alcohol and drug-fueled debauchery, the team discovers the bomb they deactivated was a decoy.

Karate Kid Actor Robert Garrison Has Passed Away and William Zabka Offers a Heartfelt Tribute

Robert Garrison, the actor who played Tommy in The Karate Kid and also reprised his role years later in Cobra Kia Season 2, has passed away.

Garrison was 59 years old, and his sister-in-law told TMZ that he died Friday morning at a hospital in West Virginia. She went on to say that his passing wasn't sudden, “he had been in the hospital for over a month dealing with kidney and liver issues, and his organs shut down.”

Garrison played a member of the Cobra Kai team who famously yells, "Get him a body bag! Yeah!" The character later died in the Cobra Kai series after a motorcycle road trip with his friends.

Garrison also had small roles on TV shows like MacGyver, Columbo, and Coach. He is survived by his brother, Patrick, and Patrick's wife, Linda.
