In the final scene, the family wants pizza, but Reynaldo's pizza restaurant has already closed for the day. Rick uses his portal gun to go to another dimension where they don't practice daylight savings time so that Reynaldo's would still be open. He makes a point of saying that although he returned almost instantly with pizzas, it was not because he time traveled, but rather he just grabbed someone else's order that coincidentally happened to be sitting on the counter. This bit of exposition may have been added because Justin Rolland has specifically stated in panels that they would not use time travel as one of the shows devices. It seems the creators had the foresight to head off criticism of hypocrisy from viewers by having Rick explain how he returned so quickly with the pizzas. See more
