The jury delivers its verdict on Joe Miller, leading to a bitter exchange between the winning and losing barristers. Meanwhile Hardy arrests Claire on the strength of the evidence she has brought him and interviews her, finding she has links to more than one of the suspects in the Sandbrook case, the next step being to charge Lee Ashworth. Assisted by a still emotional Ellie and now driven to the point of obsession he questions Ashworth and finally solves who killed the two young girls in Sandbrook, putting an end to two years of torment. Broadchurch itself now reverberates to the end of the murder trial and its result, as the residents attempt to move on with their lives. Written by don @ minifie-1

Meeting expectations
7 March 2017 | by studioATSee all my reviews

After the first series managed to unite the country somehow this second series was always going to face some backlash from people who felt that it hadn't met the very high standards set.

I don't think this second series was bad, it just tried to juggle too many plots and characters.

There's no denying though that it is well written and performed, with this episode being a fine example of that. It's tense, it's edgy, but I admire the way the writer also manages to mine some humour into the proceedings too.

Enjoy 'Broadchurch', whether it be series one or two, it stands above so many other dramas.
