Jay Baruchel's character is going through the woes of a break up accompanied by zany hallucinations which are jokingly meant to be taken serious

Not much comedy goes over my head but this was a swing and a miss. Immediate feels of Louis C.K.'s show were quickly dashed by a more Wilfred angled first episode. The writers definitely got carried away with their creative avenues and the result was worse than what I'd expected from the advertised commercials. A seemingly "let's see how much we can get away with" vibe ruined any chance at an enjoyable sitcom. Where decent production and supporting cast could have allowed for a very funny show, it was wasted by poorly scripted jokes and Baruchel's typical sub par whiny how to train your dragon acting. You know that dumb feeling you get after Seth McFarlane has explained a joke to you on Family Guy? I had this nauseous feeling of disrespect for my intelligence the entire episode. I believe at one point I actually experienced pain from cringing. Needless to say I'll avoid watching this show in the future unless someone says to me "its nothing like the first episode".
