‘FX on Hulu’ Shows Will Be Counted as FX at the Emmys (Exclusive)
Upcoming original series “Devs,” “Mrs. America,” “A Teacher” and “The Old Man” won’t actually air on FX — but the network will still get credit when it comes to Emmy consideration.

The Television Academy has said that all “FX on Hulu” shows — which will air exclusively on Hulu, and not on the linear network — will nonetheless be counted as FX shows, and toward the FX tally, not Hulu’s tally, of nominations and/or wins.

“We have determined that programming for ‘FX on Hulu’ will be considered FX, partly because Hulu doesn’t have any real involvement in the development, creative or marketing of the shows,” a TV Academy spokesperson told Variety.

Mrs. America,” starring Cate Blanchett as 1970s conservative figure Phyllis Schlafly, and tech thriller “Devs” will bow in the spring, making both Emmy contenders this upcoming season. It’s still unclear whether any of the “FX on Hulu

Seth Meyers and Jonas Brothers Get Day Drunk, Write Songs at a Shuffleboard Club (Video)
Seth Meyers and the Jonas Brothers went on a day-drinking extravaganza together for Tuesday’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” and, somehow, at least one compelling pop song was written.

They were joined by Meyers’ brother, Josh Meyers, and “30 Rock” star Jack McBrayer as the group participated in the usual shenanigans that take place when one day drinks with Seth Meyers — plus some added musical flair in honor of the JoBros.

First, as always, Meyers concocted some cocktails with clever names that don’t taste good, like the First Born, which starts with 30-year-old scotch and is finished off with a tablet of Alka Seltzer.

George Cheeks, vice chairman of NBCUniversal Content Studios, has stepped down after nearly eight years with the company and is poised to join ViacomCBS as a successor to Joe Ianniello as the head of CBS’ operations within the newly merged company, sources familiar with the situation tell Variety.

The surprise move on the CBS side of the ViacomCBS ledger comes as the company is preparing for the first of several rounds of layoffs that are expected to be implemented as part of the post-merger cost saving campaign. More internal restructuring and streamlining efforts among mid-level executives is expected to be unveiled as soon as Wednesday.

Representatives for ViacomCBS did not immediately respond to calls seeking comment on Tuesday night.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's Son Is Probably Not Headed for Olympic Skiing
It doesn't sound like Silas Timberlake has his heart set on Olympic skiing anytime soon.  As Jessica Biel explained on Late Night With Seth Meyers, her 4-year-old son with Justin Timberlake wasn't such a fan of the sport when his celebrity parents introduced him to it when he was just a toddler.  "We tried I think too early," she told Seth Meyers.  "I've seen videos of 2 1/2-year-olds enjoying..." Meyers responded.  "So have I," Biel quipped. "Not my kid." She recalled, "He was just like, 'What, what, what is this?' And then you put the skis on and he was like, 'Really? Seriously? I...

Today, Mariska Hargitay plays TV’s longest-running character, the crusading Lieutenant Olivia Benson, on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit — but even she’s experienced a few setbacks in her career.

During an appearance on Monday’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actress recalled a time when she got fired from the 1995 movie Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. She told the story after host Seth Meyers congratulated her on the fact that Law & Order: Svu secured its spot as the longest-running primetime live-action series in history earlier this year when NBC renewed the highly-acclaimed drama for a 21st season.

The Reason Mariska Hargitay Stopped to Watch a Law & Order: Svu Rerun Is Too Funny

Hargitay, who stars as Captain Olivia Benson, directs episodes and is also an executive producer on the long-running series now in season 21, said she doesn't usually stop to watch old episodes she catches, but recently she made an exception. What the Heck Does You've Got Mail Have to Do With Stranger Things Season 4?

What the Heck Does You've Got Mail Have to Do With Stranger Things Season 4?
Not a lot is known about Stranger Things season four aside from the fact that it's happening. Even David Harbour said he's unsure of what's going on with his character Hopper, who, and this is a spoiler warning, seemingly perished at the end of season three. Harbour addressed his character's fate on Late Night with Seth Meyers and on Saturday Night Live, but it still remains a mystery. Now, aside from the fact that some of the action will take place outside of the seemingly cursed Hawkins, Indiana, the Stranger Things writers room Twitter account revealed five movies the team talked about that somehow relate to the upcoming season. The movies? The Peanut Butter Solution: This flick came out...

From Bret Baier to Rachel Maddow, News Anchors Carry More Weight in Late-Night

  • Variety
CNN’s Don Lemon recently delivered some amusing quips about bickering with his mother; his looming bachelor party; and his colleague Chris Cuomo’s diet.

He wasn’t holding forth on CNN.

Lemon, like so many other prominent news anchors, found himself in conversation with one of TV’s many late-night hosts. Lemon had paid a visit to ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and is among the throng of TV journalists filling what seems to be a new demand at programs that once catered mainly to movie stars. comedians and offbeat animal trainers.

TV anchors “have certainly become more prominent” in late-night guest lineups, says Rick Ludwin, a former head of late-night at NBC whose oversight included Johnny Carson and David Letterman. In an era when news programming is some of the most watched on traditional television and when the erratic movements of the Trump administration spark smartphone alerts throughout the day,

Even David Harbour Doesn’t Know if Hopper’s Dead on ‘Stranger Things’ (Video)
Seth Meyers wants to know if Hopper is dead on “Stranger Things,” but even David Harbour doesn’t know his character’s fate from the Season 3 cliffhanger.

“I always knew that Hopper had to make a sacrifice,” Harbour told the inquisitive NBCLate Night” host late last night. “He’s a jerk, and he’s needs to pay for that in some way.”

We guess the whole dead daughter thing isn’t prepayment enough?

Anyway, in the Season 3 finale, it appears that Hopper sacrificed himself to save the town — and arguably, the world — getting vaporized to close yet another portal to the upside-down.

Hopper's Stranger Things Fate Revealed? David Harbour Calls the Duffer Brothers to Get Answers
David Harbour is just like you. Warning, Stranger Things spoilers follow! Harbour, who plays Hopper on Stranger Things, appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and was asked about the ending of season three. You know the ending we're talking about: Joyce (Winona Ryder) closed to door to the Upside Down and in the process, Hopper died. Or did he? Viewers never saw his body, nor did they see it toasted by the energy involved in opening and closing the portal like they saw happen to the Russians trying to stop them. So, what's the deal? The end credits featured Russians talking about an American prisoner (and also unleashing a Demogorgon). "Well, here's the thing. I always knew that Hopper had...

Yes, Phoebe Waller-Bridge might bring back ‘Fleabag’… when she’s 50 [Watch]
Good news: Phoebe Waller-Bridge says we may get more “Fleabag.” Bad news: We’ll have to wait a while for it.

During her appearance on Tuesday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and fresh off “Fleabag’s” six Emmy wins, including Best Comedy Series, Waller-Bridge said she’s closed the door on the titular character for now, but she wouldn’t be opposed to revisiting her in middle age.

“I quite like the idea of coming back to her when — well, me, when I’m 50,” she told Seth Meyers (watch above). “Because I feel like she would’ve had more life then, and God knows what she would have got up to. And actually seeing a character like that in her later stage of life, I think, is exciting. But I think, for now, she’s been through enough. We gotta let her go.”

Never say never, “Fleabag” fans. Series creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge is backpedaling somewhat on recent comments she made about the potential for “Fleabag” Season 3. Waller-Bridge has long been adamant that her Emmy-winning comedy series would not be returning for a third run, but during her recent appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” she stated being more open to the idea of returning as Fleabag several decades down the road.

“I quite like the idea of coming back to her — well, me — when I’m 50 because I feel like she would’ve had more life then, and God knows what she would’ve got up to,” Waller-Bridge told Seth Meyers. “Actually, seeing a character like that in her later stage of life is exciting, but for now, she’s been through enough. How Mika Fell Back in Love With Pop Goodness
