Now that Robin and Barney have announced their engagement to their friends, Ted and Lily fight to be their primary wedding planner, the two who have very differing views of what Robin and Barney should do for the big day. During their battle, they eventually admit to the other why they want to focus their attention on this task. Despite the less than the traditional loving relationship she has with her father, Robin still wants Barney to go through the ritual of asking him for her hand in marriage, which Barney is afraid to do because of Mr. Scherbatsky's cold and unfriendly demeanor. But Robin learns that her father has gone through a transformation - at least in his own mind - the reason for such which could affect his role in the wedding. Written by Huggo

Robin Scherbatsky: This is, like the fifteenth time my dad has sent me a friend request. I'm just gonna hit "accept".
Ted Mosby: No!
Marshall Eriksen: No, no, no, no, no! Don't do it, Robin. You don't want to see what's behind that door.

Neil Patrick Harris Keeps The Laughs Coming
17 February 2015 | by slightlymad22See all my reviews

This episode of "How I Met Your Mother" gets the blend of humour (Barry and Robin's dad) and touching (Ted and Lily's rooftop conversation) perfectly right.

Plot In A Paragraph: Ted and Lily fight to be Robin and Barney's wedding planner, and Robin still wants Barney to go through the ritual of asking him for her hand in marriage, which Barney is reluctant to do.

One one of the highlights of the entire show Lily and Ted's confessions was very touching, but thankfully Neil Patrick Harris was on hand to lighten the mood (although darkening his hair) and keep the laughs coming.

Not a classic, but still a very good episode.
