Marvel Cancels Hulu’s Animated ‘Howard the Duck’ And ‘Tigra & Dazzler’

For as much as the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have worked in lock-step this past decade, Marvel‘s television efforts have not exactly followed suit. ‘Howard the Duck,’ ‘Tigra & Dazzler’ Animated Marvel Shows Not Moving Forward at Hulu

  • Variety
Marvel Television’s remaining slate continues to dwindle.

Variety has confirmed that the animated shows “Howard the Duck” and “Tigra & Dazzler” — two of four animated Marvel projects set up at Hulu — are no longer in the works at the streamer. The other two shows, “M.O.D.O.K” and “Hit Monkey,” are currently still on track to be completed. The four shows were to crossover in an event series called “The Offenders,” though that is now off the table given that half the team will not be featured on Hulu as planned.

According to an individual with knowledge of the decision, Marvel ultimately made the call not to move forward with the two shows.

It was reported in December that “Tigra & Dazzler” showrunner Erica Rivinoja and the show’s writing staff had exited over creative differences with Marvel, which led to the show being put on hold. In September,

‘The Mandalorian’: How Disney Learned From Past TV Mistakes and Created an Instant Hit
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” might have closed out the decades-long Skywalker Saga, but it was the small screen story of a lone bounty hunter and his little green friend that “Star Wars” fans responded to most positively last year.

Disney needed “The Mandalorian” to be a huge hit and drive subscribers to Disney+, and the company appears to have succeeded on most counts. While the platform’s large library of old Pixar, Marvel, “Star Wars”, and Disney films were key to its early success, there’s little doubt that many Disney+ subscribers signed up to watch the first live-action “Star Wars” show. Though Disney said 10 million subscribers had signed up for Disney+ a day after it launched, the company won’t share official updated subscription numbers until its next earnings report in February. Regardless, analysts have been optimistic about the service and a recent Cowen and Co. report

Agents of Shield: Jemma’s 10 Best Outfits

Jemma Simmons plays an important role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as the team’s biochemist, but her true role is that of being the heart of the team; the glue that binds everyone together. Jemma’s femininity is often represented through her wardrobe, which more often than not expresses story and emotions that aren't typically voiced on-screen thanks to costume designers Ann Foley, Amanda Riley, Whitney Galitz, and Christian Chanell. While Jemma’s looks range from preppy to classic, her wardrobe never sexualizes her and is often practical for a workplace—something else that is unfortunately rarely seen in media.
