Captain Ahab, played by Academy Award winner William Hurt (The Incredible Hulk, Into the Wild), goes on the hunt for the great white whale - which in an earlier encounter cost him his lower right leg. Now Ahab wants payback, taking a crew out to sea including first mate Starbuck (Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke - Training Day, Boyhood) and second mate Stubb (Eddie Marsan - Sherlock Holmes), in search of "Moby Dick".

Ahab references William Ernest Henley's poem "Invictus" written in 1875 (by talking about "masters of your fate, and captains of your souls"). But this version of "Moby Dick" takes place before 1861, because Pip is a runaway slave. See more
