‘Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet’ Trailer: ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Team Debuts New Apple TV+ Show — Watch

Apple TV+ may have struck out at the Golden Globes, but merely having a seat at the table so soon into its launch was enough to signal the potential shifting tides in the streaming wars. “Dickinson,” “The Morning Show,” and “Servant” helped launch the new platform to critical and fan acclaim, and the hits just keep on coming — Apple hopes, anyway. Next up: a new comedy from the creators of “Its’ Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” Fxx’s wildly successful and long-running comedy created by Rob McElhenney. In creating the new series for Apple TV+, McElhenney was joined by “Its’ Always Sunny” star/executive producer Charlie Day and writer/executive producer Megan Ganz.

The new trailer teases McElhenney playing another, though far more successful, version of his “It’s Always Sunny” character: the egomaniacal star and creative director of a popular animated video game. Determined to take all of the credit,

Hide Your Suitcases: HBO Max Is Developing a National Lampoon's Vacation Spinoff Series

  • Popsugar
The Griswolds are coming home: HBO's forthcoming streaming service, HBO Max, is reportedly developing a series inspired by National Lampoon's Vacation. Whereas the films followed the family's chaotic patriarch, famously portrayed by Chevy Chase, as he essentially found creative ways to ruin every vacation, according to Variety, The Griswolds will show their day-to-day lives in the suburbs of Chicago. (Hijinks should still be expected.)

Screenwriter Tim Hobert, who previously worked on Scrubs and Community, will write and executive produce, while Johnny Galecki is also attached as an executive producer. Funny enough, the Big Bang Theory actor portrayed Russell Griswold, pictured below, in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation in 1989.

The iconic comedy franchise actually began with a short story, "Vacation '58," written by John Hughes for National Lampoon magazine in 1979. The first film was released just four years later, and European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation have since followed, including

The Best TV Performances of the Decade

The Best TV Performances of the Decade
The decade didn’t lack for powerful and memorable performances across all forms and genres of television. Indeed, the challenge of pulling together a list of turns worth remembering was featuring only one cast member per show — otherwise, this could simply have been a list of “Orange Is the New Black” performers — and eventually capping the list at 25.

Here are the best of the best — performances that dazzled in their moment, and endure now.

Alison Brie as Annie Edison, “Community” (2009-2015)

Like a few people on this list, Alison Brie left her mark on this decade in TV through several memorable roles, bookended by her arch turn as Trudy Campbell on “Mad Men” and her deft performance as Ruth on Netflix’s “G.L.O.W.” But at the same time she was on “Mad Men,” Brie was also busy stealing scenes as a very different character on the NBC sitcom “Community.

Co-creators Ward and Trussell will executive produce the eight-episode series, which is “set in a fantastical universe” and draws on interview clips from Duncan Trussell’s podcast, “Duncan Trussell Family Hour.” The animation production company behind “Big Mouth,” Titmouse Animation, is the studio.

The show centers on Clancy, a “spacecaster with a malfunctioning multiverse simulator [who] leaves the comfort of his home to interview beings living in dying worlds,” according to Netflix.

In addition to Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time” — which ran for 10 seasons — the Emmy-winning Ward also has in the works the upcoming mini-series “Adventure Time: Distant Lands” for upcoming streaming service HBO Max, which launches in May. Ward’s credits also include “Bravest Warriors,” which he created and voiced,

Paul Walter Hauser’s Journey To ‘Richard Jewell’: “Most Overnight Successes Take About 10 Years”
“Most overnight successes take about 10 years,” says Paul Walter Hauser as he sits down for one of his first major interviews after the film that has put his name on lips all over Hollywood, Clint Eastwood’s Richard Jewell, has screened for the first time. “That’s what they say. You have to get that kind of mileage before you’re truly ready to take on a Spike Lee or a Clint Eastwood.”

Indeed, the road that would lead him here—and to his standout supporting turns in Lee’s BlacKkKlansman last year, and I, Tonya before that—took almost exactly that long. In 2009, he was taking his first steps in cinema on the set of Dustin Lance Black’s Virginia, which starred Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris. He had signed up to be an extra on the movie, which shot in his home state of Michigan. “I just wanted

Ben Affleck To Direct ‘King Leopold’s Ghost,’ About Unlikely Trio Who Exposed Atrocities In Plunder Of Congo
Exclusive: Ben Affleck will direct King Leopold’s Ghost, a fact-based drama about the plunder of the Congo by Belgium’s King Leopold II in the late 1800s. One Community, which co-financed Just Mercy, is financing development with an option to co-finance the film. Farhad Safinia (Apocalypto) is writing the script. Affleck is producing through his Pearl Street Films banner alongside Martin Scorsese and Emma Koskoff-Tillinger through his Sikelia Productions banner. The Russo Brothers Begin a New Chapter with 21 Bridges

Don Kaye Nov 20, 2019

Avengers: Endgame's Russo Brothers launch Agbo with the crime thriller starring Chadwick Boseman. They also talk Martin Scorsese.

It was roughly 20 years ago when Steven Soderbergh viewed a film called Pieces at the Slamdance Film Festival and offered to produce the next project by its directors. Those filmmakers were Cleveland-born brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, and the picture Soderbergh helped shepherd for them was a comedy called Welcome to Collinwood.

One thing led to another, and the Russos were soon major producers and directors on television, working on shows like Arrested Development and Community. But it was in 2012 that their careers changed forever, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige picked them to direct 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a film that was a turning point for all involved--including the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Russos returned for 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, the brothers’ first billion-dollar grosser,

Dan Harmon Noncommittal About ‘Community’ Movie, Cast Votes Yes
Today’s raucous Vulture Festival La panel featuring the team behind NBC’s meta-comedy Community (2009-2015) was billed as a reunion but the event did not really answer the real “reunion” question — that is, whether the cast and creatives will ever reunite to make a Community movie.

Show creator Dan Harmon and Ep/writer Chris McKenna were joined on the panel by cast members Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, Yvette Nicole Brown and Ken Jeong. At the end of a panel filled with inside jokes and tales about cast members’ favorite episodes, Harmon gave an equivocal — meta — answer to the question of whether the band is ever getting back together again for a feature film.

Harmon called the constant guessing about a future feature “a weird Ouija board thing.” “Who is supposed to say, ‘everyone do this’?” he fretted. “That’s what I’ve always said.
