This is the shorter of the two featurettes on the DVD of Speed Racer. Its 14 minute running time consists of a tour of the set of the film(complete with brief interviews where people explain their area of expertise), going into props, the Racer family house set, animation, chimp training, etc. We get pop-up facts along the way, and sadly no Wachowski appearance. This is all fine, but for some reason they decided to have the kid playing Spritle(what kind of "name" is that, even? At least the rest of them were pretty much words that actually exist... maybe they got it from the series itself, you can't apply to Saturday morning cartoons, especially the Japanese ones... they're quite good at making something that can't be questioned work as an entertaining piece of fiction) be our guide. He was obnoxious and intolerable in the picture itself, why would they think he'd be cute in this? This is edited nicely enough. It's mostly shot on hand-held, and clearly not really rehearsed or set up more than that they made sure the guy who ran this or that had time to answer and show stuff off when they came by. There is nothing offensive in this. I recommend this to people who want to know more about the making of the flick. 6/10
