This year, actress Renee Zellweger will receive the 2020 Courage Award for her charitable contributions and philanthropic efforts throughout her career, including her support of breast cancer research and awareness.

On Thursday, February 27, 2020, the Women's Cancer Research Fund (Wcrf) Honorary Chairs Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, along with Gala Chairs Quinn Ezralow and Jamie Tisch, and Co-Chairs Wallis Annenberg & Kris Levine, NJ Falk, Tom Ford & Richard Buckley, Judy & Leonard Lauder, Marion Laurie, and Lori Kanter Tritsch & William P. Sony Dates ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ Sequel, Delays Lin-Manuel Miranda Project
Sony Pictures has set a date for the sequel to 2018’s animated hit “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse,” which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film this year. The as-yet untitled follow-up to the Marvel spinoff that nabbed more than $375 million worldwide off a $90 million budget will debut in theaters on April 8, 2022. Sony dropped the news via the studio’s Twitter account Friday afternoon.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (who also trumpeted the news on Twitter) will return to produce the sequel, which picks up where the Marvel/Columbia Pictures movie co-directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, left off. The original film’s voice cast included Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, John Mulaney, Nicolas Cage, and Zoë Kravitz.

After a Great Opening Weekend, The Addams Family Gets a Sequel Order With a Release Date Already Set

After the nice, long holiday weekend we just had, the studios of MGM and Uar, who were behind the latest animated version of The Addams Family that opened this weekend are very happy with the numbers that rolled in for the film. They are so happy, in fact, that the sequel has already been ordered and given a release date of October 22, 2021.

The film was co-written and co-directed by Conrad Vernon, who worked on great animated films like Shrek and Monsters Vs. Aliens, and co-director Greg Tiernan, who worked on his own slate of wonderfully animated films that include An American Tail, The Land Before Time, and many Thomas & Friends films.

The Addams Family starred Charlize Theron, Oscar Isaac, Chloe Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Snoop Dogg, Bette Midler, Allison Janney, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Tituss Burgess and many more.

‘The Goldbergs’ Creator Adam F. Goldberg Inks Big Overall Deal With ABC Studios, Leaving Sony TV
Adam F. Goldberg, creator of ABC comedy series The Goldbergs and co-creator of spinoff series Schooled, is moving to ABC Studios from his longtime studio home at Sony Pictures TV with a big four-year overall deal.

Under the pact, which had been in the works for months, Goldberg will continue as executive producer on his autobiographical 1980s comedy series The Goldbergs, which was just renewed for a seventh season, and on 1990s spinoff, which he co-created with Marc Firek. The freshman was just picked up for a second season. Both shows are produced by Sony TV. Additionally, Goldberg will develop new projects for ABC Studios.

Goldberg is moving to ABC Studios after a decade at Sony TV. In 2010, he landed his first broadcast pilot order with the Sony TV comedy Breaking In on Fox. The project, which he co-created with Seth Gordon, went to series, which starred Christian Slater and aired for two seasons.

It's been a really long time since the iconic family has been brought to the screen, be it big or small, in any form, in a new iteration. So this should come as a welcome theatrical arrival for old fans and could serve as a great entry point for new ones. Miramax Hires Sony Animation Alum Michael Lachance As Evp Of New Family & Animation Unit

Exclusive: Industry veteran Michael Lachance has joined Miramax as Evp of its newly created Family & Animation division. He will oversee the creative direction of the unit, reporting to COO and general counsel Bob Osher.

Lachance had been Svp Creative Development at Sony Pictures Animation, where he developed such hits as Hotel Transylvania and its sequel, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and the Smurfs franchise.

Lachance has more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Before his stint at Sony, Lachance was a senior development executive at DreamWorks Animation, where he conceived the original idea for Kung Fu Panda. He also spearheaded the development of such animated hits as Madagascar, Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens, Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third.

In a coup for Miramax, the company has hired Michael Lachance as executive vice-president of its newly created family & animation division.

Lachance, a studio executive and writer with more than 20 years of experience who most recently served as senior vice-president of creative development at Sony Pictures Animation (Spa), will oversee the creative direction of the division under Bob Osher.

During his tenure at Spa, Lachance developed the global animated hits Hotel Transylvania and its sequel, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 and The Smurfs franchise.

We are certainly not ashamed to admit that we have fallen in love with Pokemon over the last few years and are avid Pokemon Go players, so needless to say we are highly anticipating the upcoming release of “Pokemon Detective Pikachu”!

We got our first glimpse of the upcoming live-action Pokemon film a few months back, however Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have now graced us with an even longer trailer showcasing some additional Pokemon creatures that will be featured in the film, as well as, a brand-new poster.
