The Late Show is not a movie
14 July 2006 | by simonwarner-1See all my reviews

The Late Show was a late night UK TV arts show which went out in the early 1990s. It went out (I think) four nights a week on BBC2 and was NOT a movie. The participants were, hardly surprisingly, playing themselves! The principal presenters were Paul Morley (ex NME), Tracey Mcleod (formerly of youth TV show Network 7), novelist Sarah Dunant and writer Michael Ignatieff. You can find out about the series at wiki/The_Late_Show_(BBC2)

The Late Show also spawned a Thursday night version called Late Show Review which became a widely-watched critical forum. It survived the end of the parent show by becoming Late Review, a slot related now to the Friday edition of Newsnight.
