Phineas Bogg: None, I hope.

Teddy Roosevelt and Billy The Kid
3 March 2019 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

With a stop to help Ben Franklin with his kite experiment, this Voyager story deals with a supposed showdown of Billy The Kid and a young Theodore Roosevelt.

Jon-Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce first land in Cuba where horror of horrors it's discovered there are no Rough Riders. But we learn that a young Harvard graduate Theodore Roosevelt had been shot and killed by Billy The Kid.

Frank Koppala as Billy and Gregg Henry as TR really dominate this story. Koppala plays Billy as a real punk, but young Meeno Peluce is caught up in the excitement of riding with him. Hexum who has seen more of the world has a job knocking some sense into him.

Gregg Henry does capture some of the sillier aspects of a young TR who was in fact was somewhat full of himself as you see here. He learned a bit of discretion later in life.

Need I point out that Billy The Kid did his thing in New Mexico territory while TR when he did go west did his cowboy thing in the Dakota territory? Never did the twain come close to meeting.

Never mind, this one is a fun story.
