Ensign Ro Laren is welcomed back with a party after advanced tactical training. Almost immediately she's picked as best suited for an undercover mission in the demilitarized zone, to prevent the peace treaty with the Cardassians being undermined by illegally attacking Federation 'Maquis' ships. Given her ethnic and personal background, the conflict of loyalties grows as her covert mission to trap the resistance fighters succeeds.
Did You Know?
The Bajoran dish "hasperat" that Ro served to Macias was actually a large burrito, stuffed with sour cream, seasonings meats and vegetables. It has become something of a running gag among most science fiction shows that some foods, despite unique names, as well as minor differences in ingredients & preparation, are virtually identical among disparate species. In Babylon 5 for example, Breen is a Narn delicacy that is almost indistinguishable from the Earth dish Swedish Meatballs, a fact commented upon by a Narn ship captain who legitimately believed it was Breen when served to him by the Narn ambassador to Babylon 5.
