Storyline

Ray Charles is playing a concert in town and John is supposed to pick him up at the airport. John brags about this to Mahalia. At the airport Ray Charles gets in the wrong car whose driver thinks he's a doctor. John arrives late looking for Ray but can't find him. John asks a few police officers if they can help find him. Ray arrives at a mental hospital where he meets Dr. Snee. Dr. Snee realizes Ray is not the doctor she is expecting, but recognizes him. Dr. Snee suggests to Ray that since he's already there he might play a few tunes for the patients. Ray then plays for the patients. John is still looking for Ray at the airport, with no success. John thinks someone else took Ray to the concert. John returns to the bus terminal feeling that he missed his chance to be a part of music history.
