Did You Know?

A Season 10 episode set in San Diego was intended as a possible spin-off show starring Catherine Bell, because it was clear at that point that David James Eliot would not return for an 11th season even if the show was not canceled, AND it was clear the show would be canceled anyway. The series finale referenced this when Bell's Col. MacKenzie was promoted and stationed in San Diego. CBS declined to do a spin off anyway. See more »

Bud: [Exiting his office] What were you talking with the General about?
Midshipman Mike 'Mikey' Roberts: Uh, Cammie. His daughter.
[Bud takes Mikey into his office and closes the door]
Bud: Are you crazy? The General is my CO! And you're messing around with his daughter.
Midshipman Mike 'Mikey' Roberts: Bud... I mean, I'm not messing around with midshipmen okay? I just happen to be in love with her.
Bud: No, you're not.
Midshipman Mike 'Mikey' Roberts: Yes, I am.
Bud: Well, fall out of love.
Midshipman Mike 'Mikey' Roberts: Okay, Cammie and have been spending a lot of time together, okay? I'm as serious as I can be *under the circumstances*.
Bud: ...

Final Episode

I am truly saddened that JAG has come to an end. There was really no show like it. JAG presented the modern day military with both it's good parts and it's negatives. Many of the story lines were taken from the headlines. It allowed those of us who were not military to better understand the Navy and Marine Corps. My father, who was a Marine in WW2, enjoyed the early years of the show.

I predict that a show like JAG will be even more important in the coming years. The War On Terror shows little signs of being over. Our front line protecting us is the military and the various agencies such as the CIA and JAG presented a window into these organizations. I don't see why another ten years of shows could not have been presented.

I will also miss Harm and Mac as well as Bud, "The Admiral", Jennifer, Tiner!,Gunny, Harriet, Webb, and all the other interesting characters that we have gotten to know over the years.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is purchasing the DVD collections. I know I've missed an episode here and there so I will be waiting for all the seasons to come out on DVD.

My thanks to the actors, writers, producers, directors, and everyone associated with the show. You did a great job.
