Trivia

Dana Carvey could not attend, but did record a new "Where are they now" spoof with Kevin Nealon as Hans and Franz. However, when the show ran late this sketch was cut. It was first broadcast on 16 October 1999, during an episode of SNL hosted by Heather Graham. The Hanz and Franz skit is still included on the DVD of the 25th Anniversary. See more »

Quotes

Cheri Oteri: Gilda Radner was every young girl's comedy idol.
Molly Shannon: Watching Gilda taught us the three most important things about comedy: if you're gonna bang into a wall, you gotta do it like you mean it.
Cheri Oteri: Yeah don't worry about looking geeky because you can look pretty later at the party.
Molly Shannon: Right, and don't ever be afraid to let people see your under pants.

25 years and still going
3 May 2000 | by Op_PrimeSee all my reviews

SNL celebrates it's 25th anniversary with great clips and getting most of the old cast members back together. The clips are hilarious, going as far back as 1975. The clips here are the best this show turned out, including Bill Murray as a lounge lizard, singing 'Star Wars'. This special also included a small parody of 'The Blair Witch Project.' Besides bringing back most of the old cast, this special also featured famous celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld and Tom Hanks. And last, but not least, there is also a look at Weekend Update clips presented by Dennis Miller, Chevy Chase and (surprise, surprise) Norm Macdonald. This special was loads of fun.
