Chris Evans is conflicted over how to approach the rest of his career.

In a conversation with his Avengers costar Scarlett Johansson as part of Variety‘s Actors on Actors series, Evans, 38, says he frequently has to talk himself out of retirement.

“Every couple of months, I decide I’m done acting,” he said. “This has been my thing for decades now. I’m always looking for a way out, but I do love it.”

The actor, who stars in the upcoming murder-mystery Knives Out, made his leap to the big screen with breakout roles in Not Another Teen Movie (2001) and Fantastic Four (2005).

Hogwarts Houses Of Chris Evans Characters

Chris Evans started acting professionally about two decades ago. He started his career in teen television, like Opposite Sex, and movies like Not Another Teen Movie. Since then, he’s moved away from those comedies into dramas and action. Evans made a career out of playing heroes, but not all of those heroes are exactly the same.

‘Red Sea Diving Resort’ Review: Chris Evans Still Playing the Hero Post-mcu

It's hard for me to believe, since part of me still thinks of him as the local kid I heard about growing up who got cast in Not Another Teen Movie, but Chris Evans is the star of the biggest movie of all time. Not Leonardo DiCaprio. Not Sam Worthington. No, it was Evans' Captain America who recently led Avengers: Endgame to the ultimate box office crown. With the McU now firmly in Evans' rear-view mirror, it's going to be interesting to see what the future holds for him. I still don't think Evans is quite …

Oh Captain, My Captain (America), It's Chris Evans' Birthday & We're Celebrating With His Best Roles
Three cheers for Captain America! Chris Evans is now 38 years old and we are happy to celebrate him and all his glory.  The Boston native has been on our radar since 2000 when he first appeared on a short-lived TV show called Opposite Sex, which also starred Milo Ventimiglia, and in the same year he starred in two films. In 2001, the birthday boy made his way into a more memorable role when he played the jock in Not Another Teen Movie. After that, Evans was in one movie after the next and by 2005 he made his way into the superhero universe as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four. As fans of Evans know, that was only the beginning with him and the superhero action films. In honor of the actor's...

Sex Education Review (Spoiler Free)

Netflix's newest teen comedy series, Sex Education, is another raunchy, but fully compassionate look at hormone-crazed adolescents.

It’s a great time to be coming of age. Not since the late ‘90s has there been such an explosion of movies and television shows centered on the discomfort and growing pains of the teenage experience. Hell, with movies like Lady Bird being nominated for Academy Awards and this year’s Eighth Grade in serious contention, coming-of-age teen entertainment has never been taken more seriously as legitimate art.

Netflix in particular has become a hub for these stories. All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, and Alex Strangelove are entertainment for and about teens, while raunchier fare like American Vandal or the animated, adolescent-focused Big Mouth (our favorite comedy of 2018) ask adults to reminisce on their awkward years. Chris Evans Shares How He Deals With Anxiety and Why He Initially Turned Down Captain America

The Avengers star Chris Evans is sharing stories of his struggles with anxiety and why it led him to initially turn down playing Captain America. Evans is no doubt at the top of his game in Hollywood, with three Captain America and two Avengers films under his belt, with Avengers: Infinity War on the way in May. After few TV stints in the early 2000s, the actor’s breakthrough role came with the hit comedy spoof Not Another Teen Movie in 2001, and his career rocketed to the next level as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in 2005’s Fantastic Four and again in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

The 7 Best Movies New to Netflix in January 2018

Does a new year mean a new Netflix? Probably not, as their slate for the first month of 2018 is still troublingly light on movies that would be old enough to have their own Netflix accounts. Nevertheless, the streaming giant has plugged a few of the biggest gaps in their library of classic films, adding “The Godfather” trilogy, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and the entire “Bring it On” series in one fell swoop.

Here are the seven best films to stream on Netflix in January 2018 (and click here for a list of everything that’s been added to the service this month).

7. “Definitely, Maybe” (2008)

Remember romantic comedies? They were nice. Sure, many of them were patently insane, and almost all of them reinforced some pernicious gender norms, but they could also be sweet and sincere reminders that we’re all just out there looking for love. “Definitely, Maybe” is one of the genre’s better examples,

5 Reasons Why ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ Deserves an Oscar Nomination
2017 has been an unequivocally weak year for animation. There wasn’t a new Laika movie, although strong Gkids titles like “The Breadwinner” helped fill the void. There wasn’t a new Studio Ghibli movie (although the forthcoming “Mary and the Witch’s Flower” is the next best thing). There were two offerings from Pixar, one of which was totally solid, and the other of which was “Cars 3.” By the summer, the situation was already so dire that something called “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” was considered a merciful reprieve from the endless trash parade of soulless corporate dreck like “Despicable Me 3” and “Smurfs: The Lost Village.”

And yet, amidst all of this darkness, there was a glimmering bright spot. And that bright spot… was something even darker. Black. “All important movies start with a black screen.” Those are the first words we hear in Chris McKay’s “The Lego Batman Movie,

Peter Travers on Harry Dean Stanton: 'The Coolest Dude in the Room'

Peter Travers on Harry Dean Stanton: 'The Coolest Dude in the Room'
"When I die," Harry Dean Stanton told me once, "people are going to say, 'I thought he was dead already.'" Typical Stanton – and atypically wrong. Though reports insist that the man actually has died at 91, avid moviegoers know he's always been around when we needed a Stanton fix at the movies. Hell, he made over 200 of them. His latest, ironically titled Lucky, with Stanton starring as an atheist on a spiritual journey, opens in two weeks.

Stanton was known as the quintessential character actor. He hated the phrase. "When you label something,

Chris Evans Opens Up About His Exes: ‘I’ve Had No Bad Breakups in My Life’

Chris Evans Opens Up About His Exes: ‘I’ve Had No Bad Breakups in My Life’
Chris Evans has no bad blood with his onetime significant others.

The actor recently opened up to Elle about the ex-girlfriends in his life and admitted that he doesn’t feel an ill will toward any of them.

“It’s very rare. But I’ve had no bad breakups in my life,” Evans said. “Typically, if I see an ex, I give a big hug, and it’s wonderful to catch up. If you’re ever fortunate enough to love someone and have them love you back, it’s worth protecting that. It’s rare that someone can truly know you.

Scenes from Airplane! Compared with Zero Hour (1957), The Film That inspired Airplane!

I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the movie Airplane! I mean how could you not? This is the movie that truly started all parody movies. Everything you see today in the “Scary Movie” franchise is because of Airplane! Remember Hot Shots? That’s because of Airplane!. If it weren’t for the Zucker brothers we never would have gotten Not Another Teen Movie which I happened to love by the way. “Surely you can’t be serious. I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley.” “Yes Stewardess, I speak Jive.” I mean there are countless lines in this film
