Richter is a lazy son of a wealthy woman, who's put up with too much so no more money. He's about to lose his local newspaper job arranged by his mom. Richter owes money to a violent drug dealer/blackmailer but sees his wife. Death wish?
Deborah Kara Unger
features several faces that have gone on to mini-major fame (one of the new Pirates of the Caribbean, for example, and the actress who played "Poppy" Fresh on the WB's cult hit Popular), and cameron diaz in a role she was built to play ... a pre- and during-fame, starlet with random poetic aspirations.
nothing in the film is exactly spectacular or revelatory, but at the same time it is a curious oddity for fans of independent, art, and student films. i wiled away an afternoon with a friends' copy of this with absolutely no regret and genuinely enjoyed the look and feel of it.
