‘The Batman’: Zoe Kravitz Will Bring ‘Strong Femininity’ to Catwoman, Inspired By Michelle Pfeiffer
Principal photography on Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” kicked off this month in England, with Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, his most enduring love interest, with whom he’s had a complex love-hate relationship.

Speaking to reporters on Friday after a Television Critics Association (TCA) presentation for her upcoming Hulu series “High Fidelity,” Kravitz suggested that, in preparing to play Catwoman, she was looking for inspiration from an actress who previously wore the black catsuit in a movie.

“I think Catwoman is an iconic character,” Kravitz said. “I was never into a lot of comic books, but that world was always really intriguing to me. And then of course Michelle Pfeiffer — her performance has always been super inspiring to me. It just felt iconic.”

Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the character in 1992’s “Batman Returns” opposite Michael Keaton as the dark knight, in a film directed by Tim Burton,

Zoë Kravitz Recounts Her Top 5 Heartbreaks in the Official Trailer For Hulu's High Fidelity

  • Popsugar
We all love a little music to go along with our heartbreaks, and Hulu's upcoming original offering promises a healthy helping of both. The trailer, which dropped Jan. 17, gives us a look at Rob's everyday life - as well as how effortlessly Kravitz embodies the spirit of the ultracool, "unpretentious" record shop owner - before diving into the nitty-gritty: her dismal love life.

Rob revisits her top five past romantic relationships while facing her one true love back on home turf, and trying to get over him once and for all. The show also stars Da'Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy, and Kingsley Ben-Adir, and hails from TV writers Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka.

‘High Fidelity’: Zoe Kravitz Personally Called Colleen Atwood About Costumes for the Hulu Update

‘High Fidelity’: Zoe Kravitz Personally Called Colleen Atwood About Costumes for the Hulu Update
When the upcoming “High Fidelity” TV show was nearing the start of production, there was no one in place to head up the costume department. Luckily, series star Zoe Kravitz knew exactly who to call.

Colleen Atwood is a legend. I had worked with her on ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and we were having a really hard time finding someone to do the costumes and that’s a really important element to the story. I called Colleen asking her if she knew someone who could do it…and she said ‘I love ‘High Fidelity!’ I love you. I’ll do it.’ And we were all shocked,” Kravitz said.

Atwood has had a prolific and acclaimed career working on period pieces and contemporary stories, collaborating with Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Jonathan Demme, and Michael Mann, among others. The demands of “High Fidelity,” which stars Kravitz as Rob, a record store owner dealing with

Why Hulu’s ‘High Fidelity’ Gender-Flipped John Cusack’s ‘Hopeless Romantic’ Role for Zoe Kravitz

  • The Wrap
If something’s not broke, why fix it? That’s the question Hulu’s “High Fidelity” creators faced when adapting Nick Hornby’s beloved 1995 novel for their new series, which stars Zoe Kravitz as Rob Brooks. The fact that Rob is now played by a woman is a serious departure from both the book, in which Rob is a man, and its 2000 film adaptation, in which Rob is still a man, played by John Cusack.

So what led Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka to gender-flip the part for their small-screen adaptation?

“I didn’t want to go redo ‘High Fidelity’ without making this change,” West told reporters during the Television Critics Association press tour Friday. “We have so much respect for the book and the film and I think they are perfect iterations of that story. But to say that, like — it’s weird, we watch a lot of romantic

Zoe Kravitz Teases ‘The Batman’ and Which Iconic Catwoman Performer Inspires Her

Zoe Kravitz Teases ‘The Batman’ and Which Iconic Catwoman Performer Inspires Her
Zoe Kravitz is looking forward to bringing some “feminine power” to her role as Selina Kyle — aka Catwoman — in director Matt Reeves’ forthcoming film “The Batman.”

“I think Catwoman, Selina Kyle represents really strong femininity, and I’m excited to dive into that,” Kravitz said Friday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. She added, “I think femininity represents power, and I think it’s a different kind of power than masculine power. That’s something that’s really interesting about Batman and Catwoman. I think Batman represents a very kind of masculine power, and Catwoman represents very feminine power — slightly more complicated, and softer, too. I like the idea that you can be soft, you can be gentle and still be very powerful and still be very dangerous.”

In October, Kravitz was cast opposite Robert Pattinson in the film, beating out a field of actresses that included Zazie Beetz of “Atlanta,

Steve Martin & Martin Short Comedy Series From Dan Fogelman Ordered By Hulu

Steve Martin & Martin Short Comedy Series From Dan Fogelman Ordered By Hulu
Hulu had given a straight-to-series order to a serialized comedy starring Steve Martin and Martin Short. The half-hour project, involving true crime and mystery, hails from This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman and 20th Century Fox TV where he is under an overall deal.

The comedy is based on an idea by Martin, who had been pursued by television networks for decades as an actor and as a writer-creator. Aside from co-creating the 1984 comedy series Domestic Life and his 15 hosting turns on Saturday Night Live, Martin has largely stayed away from television for the past five decades. This is his first TV series starring role.

“When you’re lucky enough to have lunch with Steve Martin, and halfway through the meal he says ‘hey, I have an idea for a TV show’ – it’s a pretty good day,” Fogelman told Deadline. “This is as exciting as it gets.”

Nicole Kidman Doesn’t Close Door on ‘Big Little Lies’ Season 3, but Don’t Expect Anything Soon
Nicole Kidman has some discouraging news for “Big Little Lies” fans waiting for a third season: There’s still nothing in the works for a return to Monterey in the immediate future.

Kidman has re-teamed with “Big Little Lies” writer David E. Kelley for the six-part limited series “The Undoing,” and met with reporters on Wednesday at the Television Critics Assn. press tour. But when asked about more “Lies,” Kelley remained mum, while Kidman gave a reason why viewers shouldn’t hold their breath just yet.

“We would love to,” she said, “but there are ideas that are further on down the track… we’ve been so focused on [‘The Undoing’].”

Kidman specifically pointed to how busy the “Big Little Lies” cast has been. Not only are she and co-star Reese Witherspoon committed to multiple other projects, but Kidman specifically brought up Laura Dern, who just received an Oscar nominated

Top 20 Greatest Living Actors Never Nominated for an Oscar
Jim Carrey once called himself the “Tom Hanks of the Golden Globes” after his second straight victory with the Hollywood Foreign Press in 2000 (for “Man on the Moon” following “The Truman Show”). He could win with that group but somehow couldn’t impress Oscar voters. And he’s not the only actor in that situation. Tour our photo gallery featuring Carrey among the 20 actors who’ve never been nominated for an Oscar.

Even Academy Awards hosts such as Billy Crystal and Steve Martin haven’t been noticed by Oscar voters other than seeing them perform on the ceremony stage. They have both received critics awards and Golden Globe nominations in their long careers. Martin has at least received an honorary Oscar, as has Donald Sutherland, but alas no individual nomination for either one throughout their careers.

Other Golden Globe film winners have included Colin Farrell (“In Bruges”), Richard Gere (“Chicago
