A retired police officer is on a fresh career path as he rises to the challenge of being a newly single dad. His kids are grateful to him for making sure they're okay, but decide it's time for him to get out of the house, so they turn to Vanessa (Leah Remini), his former police partner, for help.
A creative executive, Gwen, and her long-time assistant, Terry are fired from their jobs. After 3 months, Gwen shows up at Terry's door, broke. Gwen cajoles Terry into going into business with her as equals, which proves difficult after their previous business relationship. Gwen also moves in with Terry and her brother, Danny. This was a great show, witty dialogue, funny characters, and a great cast. I really liked seeing Sharon Lawrence in this comedic role. The show was so much better then all the other new NBC shows of the time. I was very upset/surprised when it was canceled.
