A woman is delighted to have given birth to a baby girl but her life is turned into a nightmare when she goes missing. The police mount a frantic search but to the woman's horror she finds out that it's herself who is the main suspect.

The true story was shown on Lt. Joe Kenda, Homicide Hunter S7 E20 "Bring My Baby Home"! His part was played by David Duchovny! The movie added several things, but the "idiot" husband was not a movie addition to make the character dumb or Madsen's adding to the character. The husband WAS foolish when it came to pregnant women and babies. See more
When Cal marks the due date of the baby on the 20th and 21st, a February calendar is shown with 28 days. The real kidnapping happened on February 19, 1988. February 1st was on a Monday in 1988 and it was a leap year with the 29th also on a Monday. So, this calendar is not correct for 1988, however, it is also not correct for 1992, the year this movie was released. See more
