The story of a famous Brazilian criminal, called The Red Light Bandit because he always used a red flashlight to break in the houses during the night. Working alone, he also used to rape his female victims.
A wealthy Brazilian, Paulo, has just been abandoned by his beautiful blonde wife Barbara who ran away with another man. Revelling in self-pity, he leaves his penthouse in search of liquor. In a bar, he witnesses a relational quarrel and after the disturbance, he asks the woman Maria to go home. She pretends to be a streetwalker- in fact, she had a homosexual lover who gave no value to her. And a brazen sexual affair starts. The couple uses each other to satisfy their sexual desires and to avoid their loneliness. However, they are not at all in love. Over time as their relationship continues, they begin to realize that they are in fact falling for each other.
Shown on Showtime cable in the 1980s in heavily edited form. See more »

When she's about to leave Paulo asks her for a last favor which she obliges but the camera is now focused on her legs but Paulo hasn't moved the camera neither left the floor where he was seated. A strange phenomenon occured at the Congress. In the middle of house session, a unbereable stench started to spread under the house speaker's desk. Some journalists at the scene affirmed that that was the end of the Brazilian miracle. However, Mr. Serginho, the chief cleaner has declared: "Finally the great national shitty has come".

What no one seems willing to admit is that "Eu Te Amo" qualifies as a XXX-rated hardcore film with almost every ingredient except for clinical close-ups. If this same film were produced in English in the USA or England it would have been tagged as porn and put on the shelf with "Debbie Does Dallas," but it gets a free ride because it is in Portuguese and comes across as "Sonia Does Sao Paolo". There is nothing wrong with raunch as long as it proudly proclaims what it really is, but this "Art Film" is deep down about as artistic as what used to run at The Pussycat Theater. Let the viewer beware.
