During the last season, when David Cassidy was thinking of throwing in the towel, Bernie Slade and the ABC producers were auditioning possible replacement Keiths, including Rick Springfield. But then the show was cancelled abruptly and this was all for naught. Other sidekicks the producers were thinking of bringing in were Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, who were hot at the time, and another big family act, but this was never to be. Ironically, Springfield did star on another show with David Cassidy's brother. The Partridge Family was a well-known enough group to obtain a booking at King's Island amusement park across the country from the California home, but not wealthy enough to travel in a chauffeured coach or even by air to most of their other gigs.

The first season episodes originally featured the theme song's initial version titled "When We're Singin'". Subsequently, on cable reruns, the rewritten version that first appeared on the 2nd season, "C'mon Get Happy" is used for the whole series. See more »
The Partridge Family is a show for people who remember the 70's.Shirley Jones and David Cassidy are great as Shirley and Keith Partridge.Susan Dey's performance as Lauren Partridge is O.K. Danny Bonaduce's role as Danny is one fans will remember, and David Madden as the manager Reuben Kincaid is pure gold! The performances of Jeremy Gelbwaks/Brian Forster are great as both play Christopher Partridge.Suzanne Crough as Tracy Partridge moves me when she plays the tambourine. Even though "The Partridge Family" only lasted four years and 96 episodes,I wish it could've done more.
