William Wintersole, Who Played Mitchell Sherman on ‘The Young and the Restless,’ Dies at 88
William Wintersole, a prolific TV actor who is perhaps best known for playing attorney Mitchell Sherman on “The Young and the Restless” for 25 years, has died. He was 88.

“Early Tuesday morning my father Bill Wintersole passed,” his daughter Tiffany Harmon posted on Facebook. “My bond with him was strong. His heart pure. He spoke to me with his facial expressions, as his gift was communication with Anybody..Anywhere..Anytime. A Legend. An entertainer and my beautiful daddy. #collectiveconsciousness as he rises above to protect me and those many fans who loved him.”

Wintersole, who was last on “Y&r” in 2011, was born July 30, 1931 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He died on Nov. 5 at 1:11 a.m., his daughter wrote.

Sherman was the lawyer for Jeanne Cooper’s Katherine Chancellor Murphy.
