“Faith Based” Pokes Fun At A Very Unique Film Genre

“Faith Based” Pokes Fun At A Very Unique Film Genre
Apologies if this offends anyone, but faith based films almost exclusively are terrible. In fact, they’re ripe for parody. After all, movies made on the cheap, appealing to an audience that only cares about quality in the broadest sense of the word, and can almost be assured of turning a profit, are easy targets. The upcoming film Faith Based takes a comedy and satirical look at what would happen if a couple of regular guys, on the hunt for a quick buck, opted to make one themselves. The premise has a lot of potential, which luckily for audiences, leads to a charming flick with more on its mind than simply having a laugh at this inherently silly genre. The movie is, as mentioned, a comedy, centering on two fairly dim-witted friends. Luke (Luke Barnett) and Tanner (Tanner Thomason) are buds who love cinema, aren’t the smartest, and need to make some money.

Bosch Season 6 is officially on the way via Amazon Prime Video.

Fans of the Amazon retro-noir contemporary police drama, starring Titus Welliver as hard-driving Lapd detective Harry Bosch, were recently informed that season 6 would be the show’s penultimate, as season 7 will wrap up the series for good.

Created by Eric Overmyer, Bosch has been adapted from the Harry Bosch novel series written by Michael Connelly. The 22-book run started with 1992’s The Black Echo and the latest tome is 2019’s The Night Fire. Connelly is an executive producer on the series, and seems to be happy with how the project has panned out.

“I’m proud of what we have accomplished with Bosch and look forward to completing the story in season 7,” he said. “It’s bittersweet but all good things come to an end and I am happy that we will be able to go out the way we want to.

Godzilla Vs. Kong Toy Fair Art Reveals a New Look for the King of All Monsters
The King has arrived at the New York Toy Fair. A new promo image from Godzilla Vs Kong has been showcased at the event, which is taking place this weekend, and it has made its way online, providing us with our best look yet at the legendary monster's updated look for the new movie. If this photo is any indication, it could be yet another sign that another classic character from the franchise is going to show up, which will seemingly complicate things for both Godzilla and King Kong.

The Toy Fair image sees Godzilla standing amidst some very tall buildings in an unidentified city, shooting his atomic breath into the sky. At what, or who, precisely, he's aiming we're not sure. Though, it's not unreasonable to assume this rage is directed at a certain, large primate that is also being highlighted in the movie's title. The major takeaway here is the monster's fins,

Tessa Thompson on the Power of ‘Sylvie’s Love,’ an ‘Irresistible’ Story of Black Love
In “Sylvie’s Love,” Tessa Thompson stars as an aspiring TV producer named Sylvie opposite Nnamdi Asomugha’s young musician Robert, who meet and fall in love in the New York summer of 1957. The 1950s and 1960s-set film — written and directed by Eugene Ashe — is a romantic tale of love found, lost and possibly rekindled, a story totally irresistible to the film’s stars.

“Selfishly, I grew up looking at old photographs of my grandmother when she would travel by train and seeing her in her gorgeous outfits with gloves and with her hat box. I thought a lot of what it was to be a woman at that time boxed by the confines of period and gender,” Thompson said at Variety’s Sundance Studio presented by AT&T. “I really loved the idea of working in something that was just really about joy and, if and when there was strife,

Bosch Season 7 Confirmed by Amazon, Set as Show’s Last

Joseph Baxter Feb 14, 2020

Amazon’s beloved crime series, Bosch, is officially set for a seventh and final season.

Bosch Season 7 has been announced by Amazon with the confirmation of a finish line set for the Titus Welliver-starring modern noir detective show, which launched back in 2014 as one of Amazon’s very first original offerings.

The preemptive season renewal for Bosch, which is currently on deck for a Season 6 premiere sometime this year on Amazon Prime Video, is par for the course, most recently exemplified by the platform’s announced order for said sixth season way back in November 2018 – well ahead of the April 19, 2019 arrival of Season 5, the most recent frame available. Indeed, with no date to cite yet for Season 6, the show’s ultimate swan song in Bosch Season 7 is likely far off on the horizon.

The series is the creation of Eric Overmyer, who adapted the prolific Harry Bosch novel series of Michael Connelly,

  • The Wrap
Amazon Studios has picked up worldwide rights to “Sylvie’s Love,” a period romance starring Tessa Thompson, according to an individual with knowledge of the deal.

The film, which Amazon acquired the worldwide rights to for a high seven-figure price tag, premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

Written and directed by Eugene Ashe, “Sylvie’s Love” is a lush love story set in the cool jazz era of New York City that spans several years in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Thompson gives a powerful performance in the film as Ashe, melds music into his romance for a rich period piece. “Sylvie’s Love” played in competition in the U.S. Dramatic section.

‘Sylvie’s Love’: Film Review

‘Sylvie’s Love’: Film Review
Sultry music swells as the camera swoons over a young couple in a tender nighttime embrace. The 1950s residential New York City street is carefully rain-slicked and lined with shiny classic cars: an obvious stage set. Gene Kelly might just have swung on that lamppost; Doris Day might lean out of an upstairs window to sigh at a painted moon. But the canoodling stars of Eugene Ashe’s Sundance competition title “Sylvia’s Love” are black, which is among the sole indications that this weightlessly glossy yet undeniably charming romance is a product of the 21st century. Even so, were we to find out as the credits roll that the film had actually lain undiscovered in some studio vault for five decades, aside from mild surprise that it would make Tessa Thompson quite a bit older than previously suspected, it would actually explain a lot.

More even than Declan Quinn

Godzilla Vs. Kong Is in the Home Stretch, Director Calls It the Thrill of a Lifetime

Godzilla Vs. Kong Is in the Home Stretch, Director Calls It the Thrill of a Lifetime
Director Adam Wingard has provided a little update on the status of Godzilla Vs Kong. The gigantic monster flick was recently delayed by Warner Bros. by a full eight months. The movie was originally supposed to hit theaters in March and the delay, to some, could be taken as a signal that there is trouble in paradise. However, Wingard's new comments suggest that everything is going well and that the kaiju clash is nearing the finish line in the editing room.

Adam Wingard, who previously directed movies like You're Next and Blair Witch, isn't what one might call an overly active social media user. But Wingard recently took to Instagram and shared a picture of King Kong from days past. In his caption, Wingard had nothing but positive things to say about the process and revealed that the movie is nearly complete. Here's what he had to say about it.

Godzilla Vs. Kong Toys May Spoil a Major Character Reveal

  • MovieWeb
A major character appearance in Godzilla Vs Kong may have been spoiled by some recently revealed merchandise. The King of the Monsters and King of Monkeys are set to duke it out on the big screen later this year, which will be the culmination of Warner Bros. and Legendary's so-called MonsterVerse. Yet, if these new toys are any indication, there is going to be another surprise guest crashing the party.

Warning: possible spoilers ahead for Godzilla vs. Kong. While toys aren't always the best indication of what's to come, they're right often enough that it's worth warning those who don't want anything about this movie spoiled. That having been said, the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair recently took place. It's an expo that allows companies to show off merchandise for vendors who are looking to buy product for the year. Some photos surfaced online of some toys coming out for Godzilla vs.

Faith Based Teaser Counters Controversy Fueled by Fox News and Breitbart
The Faith Based teaser trailer has arrived and it takes a different approach to promote the Christian movie industry satire. Rather than deliver a traditional trailer with footage from the comedy, stars Luke Barnett and Tanner Thomason read angry comments about the movie from Fox News and Breitbart. The duo claim that their upcoming movie has earned over 10,000 angry comments so far, making sure to note that nobody has even seen the movie yet.

Most of the comments from Fox News and Breitbart about Faith Based are pretty negative and dark, with some even going as far as to talk about Jews and Muslims. The comedy is based around two friends, played by Luke Barnett and Tanner Thomason, who set out to make a movie to capitalize on the lucrative Christian movie industry. So far, the satire has managed to gain a lot of attention for what some are calling,

Keanu Reeves’ Crazy Schedule May End Up Delaying John Wick: Chapter Four

As one of the most popular stars in the movie business, one that’s enjoying a huge career renaissance after a recent string of critical and commercial hits, Keanu Reeves is arguably more in demand now than at any other point in his decades-long Hollywood career.

In 2019 alone, the 55 year-old has starred in the hugely successful third installment in the John Wick franchise, voiced a character in Pixar’s billion-dollar smash Toy Story 4, sent himself up twice thanks to cameo appearances in Netflix comedies Always Be My Maybe and Between Two Ferns: The Movie, and even popped up in the trailer for the next Spongebob Squarepants movie.

Next up on the slate for the actor is long-awaited sequel Bill & Ted Face the Music, which sees him returning as Theodore ‘Ted’ Logan for the first time since 1991’s Bogus Journey. After that, Reeves will move on to another belated sequel

Godzilla Vs. Kong Gets Delayed Until November 2020
Godzilla Vs. Kong has been delayed by 8 months. The wait for Godzilla Vs Kong just got a whole lot longer as Warner Bros. has opted to push the release of the next entry in their so-called MonsterVerse by 2/3s of a year. For the time being, no official reason for the long delay has been revealed, but this comes mere months after Godzilla: King of the Monsters was released in theaters and managed to disappoint both critically and commercially. It seems the studio doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes, if they can be avoided.

According to a new report, Godzilla vs. Kong will now hit theaters on November 20, 2020. The movie had previously been slated to arrive on March 13, 2020. Godzilla Vs. Kong wrapped in April. Given that the previous release date was only four months away and we've had right next to nothing in the way of marketing for the movie,

M. Night Shyamalan Goes ‘On Location’ in Honor of ‘The Sixth Sense’s’ 20th Anniversary
“As with all things, the thing that makes you different becomes your strength. And so, this is something that makes me different. I’m an Indian dude who lives in Philly, alright? So, why would I want to blunt that?” – M. Night Shyamalan, “On Location”

If you’ve ever seen an M. Night Shyamalan movie, chances are that you know the filmmaker loves to represent his hometown of Philadelphia. Movies like “The Sixth Sense,” “Unbreakable,” “Lady in the Water,” and even “The Village” and “Signs” all take place in or around the Philadelphia area, and much like Shyamalan himself, the location is basically a character itself in his movies.

In honor of that hometown love — as well as the 20th anniversary of “The Sixth Sense” and the general Halloween spirit — Shyamalan went back to Philly for the latest, spooky episode of the Paramount Network’s short-form digital series “On Location,
