Jack Black's 10 Best Roles, Ranked

Black’s wacky brand of humor has made him an onscreen staple for the past twenty years, and audiences have come to expect a particular quirkiness to films in which he stars.

Recently, Black had been speaking about slowing down or even retiring from acting saying, “I’ve got a couple of tricks up my sleeve. But not too many. I’m looking to wrap it up pretty soon. Ride off into the sunset.”. Audiences would surely miss him if this was the case. Here are the 10 best Jack Black roles.

Goosebumps Creator Announces The Return Of Slappy The Dummy

For the better part of three decades, Goosebumps author R.L. Stine has been scaring children (and some adults) with his neverending series of creepy creatures and characters. Even though the original run of books only lasted a few years, the franchise has carried on with numerous spin-off series, the iconic TV show, a few video games, and of course, two blockbuster films starring Jack Black. While diehard Goosebumps fans could easily argue for hours on end about Stine’s most scary character, many would probably agree that Slappy the Dummy takes the cake.

As a sort of less violent take on Chucky from Child’s Play, Slappy is a ventriloquist dummy who comes to life, terrorizing whatever hapless teenager brought him home while also scapegoating them for all the trouble he causes – seriously, don’t underestimate Slappy’s gaslighting abilities. After appearing in both of the Goosebumps movies, the doll from

‘High Fidelity’: Zoe Kravitz Personally Called Colleen Atwood About Costumes for the Hulu Update
When the upcoming “High Fidelity” TV show was nearing the start of production, there was no one in place to head up the costume department. Luckily, series star Zoe Kravitz knew exactly who to call.

Colleen Atwood is a legend. I had worked with her on ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and we were having a really hard time finding someone to do the costumes and that’s a really important element to the story. I called Colleen asking her if she knew someone who could do it…and she said ‘I love ‘High Fidelity!’ I love you. I’ll do it.’ And we were all shocked,” Kravitz said.

Atwood has had a prolific and acclaimed career working on period pieces and contemporary stories, collaborating with Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Jonathan Demme, and Michael Mann, among others. The demands of “High Fidelity,” which stars Kravitz as Rob, a record store owner dealing with

Does ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?

  • The Wrap
Does ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Have a Post-Credits Scene?
Jumanji: The Next Level” has done pretty well for itself over the past month as it has faced off directly against “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” just kinda chugging along in very workmanlike fashion. Like some kind of blue collar flick holding its own against royalty. It’s no surprise that the Sony film has done well despite the competition — its predecessor did the same thing two years ago against “The Last Jedi.”

This time around, the new “Jumanji” flick got a head start by opening a week ahead of its “Star Wars” competition. It certainly got off to a good start four weeks ago, having taken the box office crown from “Frozen 2” for a week before “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” stormed in to take it back for Disney.

Given the film’s success, it looks like this franchise will be with us for a while.

Bo Report: ‘Jumanji,’ ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Frozen’ sequels draw crowds

‘Jumanji: The Next Level.’

Kids and families are flocking to the Jumanji, Star Wars and Frozen sequels while adults are embracing the original titles Little Women, The Gentlemen and Jojo Rabbit.

‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Rocks To $550M WW Box Office, Closing Offshore Gap With ‘Welcome To The Jungle’

‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Rocks To $550M WW Box Office, Closing Offshore Gap With ‘Welcome To The Jungle’
Exclusive: Sony/Seven Bucks/Matt Tolmach Productions’ Jumanji: The Next Level is closing in on its predecessor, Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. With a $548.8M worldwide gross through January 2, the Dwayne Johnson-starrer now counts $209.7M domestic and $339.1M from the international box office. Comparatively at the same time in release, Next Level is slightly ahead (+3%) of the previous installment overseas and when excluding China. Including the Middle Kingdom, the latest Jake Kasdan-directed adventure is down by about 5%.

The film came on strong last weekend with just a 1% overseas drop and following muscular mid-week business in the Christmas corridor. Along with Disney/Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker ($423M international/$840M global through Thursday), it remains a Top 2 choice in most key markets and is still to roll into Brazil later this month.

The biggest market thus far for Next Level is China with $41.1M (down from

‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Pushes Past $400 Million at Domestic Box Office

‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Pushes Past $400 Million at Domestic Box Office
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” was the clear choice for moviegoers hoping to celebrate the dawn of 2020. The Skywalker saga finale topped the New Year’s Day box office, grossing $16.9 million and pushing its domestic haul past the $400 million mark.

“The Rise of Skywalker” is trailing the two previous films in the series, “The Last Jedi” and “The Force Awakens,” but it has still managed to pull in an impressive $407.5 million stateside after 13 days in release and another $407.9 million from foreign markets. Its global haul stands at $815.4 million. The movie should have no trouble hauling in more than $1 billion when it ends its run, though it will likely fall short of “The Last Jedi’s” $1.3 billion global result or “The Force Awakens'” $2.1 billion worldwide total.

The Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm movie has faced fiercer headwinds than other “Star Wars” sequels and spinoffs. Critics were lukewarm about the picture

‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ Tops New Year’s Eve Box Office
Moviegoers flocked to “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” on New Year’s Eve, choosing to ring in 2020 by ringing out the nine-film saga about the rise, fall, and rise again of cinema’s preeminent Jedi family.

The Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm release pulled in an estimated $13.1 million on Tuesday as much of the world prepared to pop the champagne on the year that was. That brings “The Rise of Skywalker’s” domestic total to $390.6 million, putting it in position to cross the $400 million mark at some point on New Year’s Day.

Sony’s “Jumanji: The Next Level” continued to perform well despite the formidable challenge from the latest Star Wars. The film came in second over the holiday, bringing in $8.3 million to push its domestic haul to $192.1 million. “Jumanji: The Next Level” is the follow-up to 2017’s “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” It reunites a cast that includes Jack Black,

Cate Blanchett’s Hela Reportedly Returning To McU, Maybe In Thor: Love And Thunder

The Marvel Cinematic Universe used to have a problem with crafting memorable villains, but the studio’s recent output has certainly done a lot to change that, bringing us some truly compelling baddies. And while Hela from Thor: Ragnarok wasn’t quite as well received as say Thanos or Killmonger, she’s certainly still one of the better antagonists we’ve seen in the franchise.

And now, with Thor: Love and Thunder beginning to come together, many have started to wonder if they’ll see Cate Blanchett’s character return in the upcoming sequel. After all, we know that the actress is definitely down to reprise the role.

Speaking with Fandom back in September, Blanchett answered with an affirmative “sure” when she was asked if she’d consider an McU return. Jack Black, who was also present during the interview, chimed in as well, saying:

“You never actually saw her die,
