Who is the purr-fectly sultry Kitty on ‘The Masked Singer’? We examine the clues
It felt like the fan favorite of episode 4 on “The Masked Singer” was that tall colorful Kitty. She definitely added a purr-fectly sultry air to the show while belting out Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” and the crowd jumped to their feet and looked joyful. But, those clues were a head banger.

This little kitty voiced a fondness for the peculiar and says she feels comfy “among the weird.” She also said something about a transformation and voiced how people don’t think of her as the “person she’s become” but rather as the “person she once was.” She was poised, had great stage presence and she really wails on the high notes.

But who is she? In her clue segment she was shown in a theater and there was a clip of her fighting pirates.

This Wild Theory About Last Christmas Makes Sense, but We Really Hope It's Not True

  • Popsugar
You know how the Wham! holiday song goes, "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart"? Well, sleuths on the Internet are pretty convinced that we'll be getting actual organ donations in the buzzy Emma Thompson-penned holiday rom-com Last Christmas. In it, Emilia Clarke plays Kate, an aspiring London singer who at one point was sick and nearly died. She later meets the generous Tom, portrayed by Crazy Rich Asians' charming Henry Golding. Kate says, in the trailer, that he should get "saint" tattooed on his forehead. But what if he's a literal saint, dead when, well, he gave her his heart?

It's hard not to entertain this idea, no matter how wild it may sound. There are signs of the telltale heart twist. In the trailer, we don't really see Tom interacting with other characters; we only see him doling out his charm to Kate. Perhaps he's a figment

Why Director Taika Waititi Decided to Play Adolf Hitler in ‘Jojo Rabbit’

  • Variety
Fox Searchlight blackmailed me into doing it,” Taika Waititi told Variety of playing Adolf Hilter in “Jojo Rabbit” at the film’s premiere at American Legion Post 43 on Tuesday night in Hollywood. Staying mum when asked which other actors had been on his wish list to play the role, Waititi explained why he eventually decided to say yes to the part.

“You start [out] thinking of bigger stars to be part of a film like this or to play this imaginary Hitler. But at the end of the day, it came down to the simple fact that if we had done that, that would have overshadowed the heart of the story — which is this beautiful story, this relationship story between these two kids,” he explained. “And if there was a big celebrity then it would have become the ‘so-and-so Hitler film,’ which is not at all what this is.”

Oh, you people! Place “Fleabag” and its star even higher in your Emmy predictions and thank me later!
It’s one thing to see celebrity Emmy voters rave about a TV show on social media. It’s all together more important when they reveal that they checked off the series and its leading lady on their nomination ballot as filmmaker Rod Lurie (“The Contender”) did on Monday.

Just filled out my Emmy nomination ballot. @fleabag is absolutely front and center. I do believe the reign of #Veep is over- as is that of the great #JuliaLouiseDreyfus. Nobody will touch the performance or writing of #PhoebeWaller-Bridge. What a show. What a talent.

— Rod Lurie (@RodLurie) June 23, 2019

This week there was also a “Fleabag”-related Democratic debate tweet that MSNBC’s Chris Hayes retweeted:

I'm voting for whichever candidate wears the Fleabag jumpsuit to tonight's debate.

Elizabeth Debicki Talks About Being Supported by Other Women in Hollywood
Elizabeth Debicki is looking to the future — which makes sense, since she was named Women in Film and Max Mara’s “Face of the Future” for 2019.

“No pressure,” Debicki laughed when Variety asked the actress about the honor on the red carpet. “It means a great deal. I have always deeply respected the work that they do. I think they’ve always been incredibly progressive and really ahead of the curve in terms of pushing for female equality and they’re amazing women. These are really women who are making change in the industry.”

Hosted by Maria Giulia Maramotti, Max Mara Vice President of Us Retail and Global Brand Ambassador, and InStyle Editor-In-Chief Laura Brown, the women of Hollywood gathered at Chateau Marmont on Tuesday night to celebrate the young star and laugh and toast over champagne and sliders. The garden party was a preview of the Women In Film annual gala,

Miyazaki Madness! Princess Mononoke Screens This Weekend Midnights at The Tivoli

“Ugh, I smell like a human!”

Princess Mononoke (subtitled) plays midnights this weekend (June 7th and 8th) at the Tivoli (6350 Delmar in St. Louis’ Loop) as part of their Reel Late at the Tivoli Midnight series.

Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke (1997) is reportedly a delightful anime from the man who has come to define everything that is best about the genre, I’ve never seen it, but Miyazaki always brings in the crowds for the midnight shows so I’m sure it’s a worthy choice. Princess Mononoke was Miyazaki’s calling card to the world outside Japan. The English voice cast boasts Billy Crudup, Billy Bob Thornton, Minnie Driver, Claire Danes, Jada Pinkett Smith, Gillan Anderson and Keith David – a considerable volume of talent for an animation back in 1997 (Toy Story was 1995), arguably marking the beginning of another trend – for big names to be heard and not seen. Essentially

Phoebe Waller-Bridge can’t stop, won’t stop rising in our Emmy odds for ‘Fleabag”s sublime Season 2

Phoebe Waller-Bridge can’t stop, won’t stop rising in our Emmy odds for ‘Fleabag”s sublime Season 2
Our predicted Best Comedy Actress Emmy nominees have been the same six faces for months: Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep”), Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), Allison Janney (“Mom”), Natasha Lyonne (“Russian Doll”), Pamela Adlon (“Better Things”) and Lily Tomlin (“Grace and Frankie”). But someone looks poised to crash the party soon: Phoebe Waller-Bridge for the second season of “Fleabag.”

Waller-Bridge, who was nominated last year in drama writing for “Killing Eve,” had been chilling in the lower teens of our predictions, mostly because the second season of “Fleabag” hadn’t premiered on Amazon Prime in the U.S. yet. She was in 14th place just three weeks ago on May 6. The expected “Fleabag” nominee this whole time was Olivia Colman, who’s still in sixth place in supporting, because she’s Olivia Colman and had just won an Oscar, along with a possible writing nomination for Waller-Bridge.
