Voice of their own creations

by adampkalb | created - 15 Mar 2019 | updated - 4 weeks ago | Public

Sometimes a creator of a film or TV series will voice their own primary or secondary characters not just to save money on other actors, but to also make more money for themselves. Some may even be talented enough at doing different voices to occasionally get hired to voice extra characters somewhere else. Live action shows such as The Orville are not included.

It's people like these in every episode or most episodes of their own animated shows that makes me wonder which side of the line on which they are between professional actors and writers testing their own amateur voice talent. How often do any of these people, besides the MacFarlanes, pursue casting opportunities in other shows? Look at all of their acting credits and seriously, think about it.
