1. Cowboy Bebop (1998–1999)
TV-14 | 24 min | Animation, Action, Adventure
The futuristic misadventures and tragedies of an easygoing bounty hunter and his partners.
Thematically brilliant, appropriately though provoking and at times fun. Favorite episode: Mushroom Samba
2. Blue Planet II (2017–2018)
TV-G | 364 min | Documentary
David Attenborough returns to the world's oceans in this sequel to the acclaimed documentary filming rare and unusual creatures of the deep, as well as documenting the problems our oceans face.
This is a display of the both fragile and powerful, often over-looked nature of the ocean. It has one of the most epic soundtracks by Hans Zimmer (shame some compositions are left out from the OST, I think). Animals are actors: cooperate, murder, die or survive. And I love that every episode has harsh environmental realities but ends with a hopeful message and the possible glitter of change. And uh, also, where's the rivers and lakes episode? I know it was hard to film the deepest fish and stuff, but my man wanted to see some river dolphins.
3. Chernobyl (2019)
TV-MA | 330 min | Drama, History, Thriller
In April 1986, an explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics becomes one of the world's worst man-made catastrophes.
Brilliant drama with impressive historical accuracy. Exposes the value of truth, which was a very relevant issue regarding my personal standpoint. No prettiness - this series mirrors reality - a breath of which I've been dying to get. And while it might dramatize at points, the little aesthetic details and the human aspects help paint a satisfying picture of what a corrupt ideology can cost. In this case - an explosion of an RMBK reactor. Not great, not terrible.
4. Stranger Things (2016– )
TV-14 | 51 min | Drama, Fantasy, Horror
When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief and his friends must confront terrifying supernatural forces in order to get him back.
Season 1 was depressing but at least it had Jerry Epstein. Storyline was rigid. Buncha xenomorphs whatever. But it did hook me.
Season 2 was what I imagined Stranger Things would be - full of nostalgic pop culture (whether I liked it or not). First episode was great (even though El resurrected and is OP). Fake Epstein was okay. Indian sister was annoying, so was the crazy woman from last season where she was annoying as well but she was also annoying in the third season. But they brought the real Jerry Epstein back for a few moments, which was epic. Billy’s a legend and Vsauce is pretty cool. Season 2 was the most balanced type of fun.
Season 3: as seasons got funner, the plot holes got wider. As soon as I saw Russian Terminator I knew this was a fucking joke of a season. It really pandered to how I watched these episodes: mostly for the spectacle and fun of it, though they did butcher some characters which i kind of cared for (and they straight up had no rules and broke the tension). But they made it up with the new ones. Buuuut 4 of my favorite characters all died in the finale. I did cry probably for the first time at big production media, Hop had so much potential! And billy, cmon, how the f am i supposed to enjoy the next season. Thank fuck the Wyers shitheads are out of town along with demon rape magnet Will and crazy woman. Jons alright. Liked Gary Busey's son and the lesbian. In the last episode when they started throwing fireworks, someone starting firing fireworks irl and that was so damn exciting you cant imagine.
Summary: I havent seen something so unoriginal yet so original at the same time. Im glad I watched it. Ugh I enjoyed way more than I wrote here okay, my memory is all fucked up because im depressed. Good soundtrack, great atmosphere, awesome fonts (orgasmic 2), technological achievemnt, ah im a terrible critic. Also, fuck the Duffer Brothers, who the fuck calls themselves brothers, fucking Mario and Luigi?

While the show itself undoubtedly was a game-changer in TV drama at the time, the reason why this is on the list is mainly because it is very fun taking this show lightly and watching it with a friend, letting yourself be immersed in the ridiculous drama structure it keeps reusing. Why this above all the other Storage Wars copies? Frankly, it is the most entertaining of them all, the characters are great and the show can catch you off-guard when it makes you laugh not at it, but with it. I couldn't not include a 2010'S Discovery Channel type TV shlock in this list and this is the most memorable and influential.
