Here’s The Final Trailer For Netflix’s Big-Budget Will Smith Movie ‘Bright’

Netflix has dropped the final trailer for their $100 million winter movie Bright. The film will arrive on the home formats from next Friday with Will Smith and Joel Edgerton leading the cast. David Ayer (Suicide Squad) directs.

Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.

Bright is available only on Netflix this December. Chris Brancato, the showrunner and co-creator of the hit Netflix crime-drama Narcos along with Carole Kirschner, the director of the Writers Guild of America's showrunner training program, recently held a masterclass with young writers in Mumbai. They were invited by producer Siddharth Roy Kapur to train writers in creating shows that are engaging and binge-worthy. Roy Kapur will be producing original content for the Jio streaming platform.

‘RoboCop’ Director Jose Padilha Boards Art Heist Movie ‘Master Thieves’
Brazilian director Jose Padilha has come on board to develop the art heist drama “Master Thieves” as a possible feature film for Sony.

Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl are producing the project, and David Beaubaire is overseeing the development for the studio.

The screenplay is by Wayne Lemon, based on the true story of the 1990 Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist in Boston when guards admitted two men posing as police officers. Once inside, the men tied up the guards and stole 13 pieces of art in an hour. It’s the biggest property crime in the history of the United States, with more than $500 million worth of art stolen, and it remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries to this day. The art and culprits have never been found.

Entebbe : first trailer for new film from Narcos director

A historical plane hijacking serves as the inspiration for Entebbe, which stars Daniel Brühl and Rosamund Pike.

Arriving in cinemas in the spring of 2018 is Entebbe, a new film from director Jose Padilha. Padilha has most recently been directing the TV show Narcos, but is also known too for the likes of the brilliant Elite Squad, and the RoboCop reboot.

Entebbe, known as 7 Days In Entebbe in the Us, heads into cinemas in March, and boasts a cast that includes Rosamund Pike, Daniel Brühl, Eddie Marsan, Ben Schnetzer, Lior Ashkenazi, and Denis Ménochet .

The plot is inspired by the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight on the way from Tel Aviv to Paris, and tells the story of the rescue mission that followed.

We’re seeing that this is being referred to as 7 Days In Entebbe in some territories, but as far as we can tell it will remain to be titled Entebbe in the UK.

Focus Features Releases First Trailer For 7 Days In Entebbe

Daniel Brühl stars as “Wilfred Brose” and Rosamond Pike stars as “Brigitte Kuhlman” in this first trailer for José Padilha’s 7 Days In Entebbe.

Focus Features will release the film in select theaters on March 16, 2018.

A gripping thriller inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, the film depicts the most daring rescue mission ever attempted.

There have been two TV movies about the rescue.

Raid On Entebbe (1976) starred Peter Finch, Charles Bronson, Yaphet Kotto and was directed by Irvin Kershner (The Empire Strikes Back). It won the Golden Globe for “Best Motion Picture Made for Television.” Victory At Entebbe was helmed by Marvin J. Chomsky (Tank) and starred Elizabeth Taylor, Linda Blair, Helen Hayes, Richard Dreyfuss and Burt Lancaster.

If Beale Street Could Talk” is adapted from the 1974 James Baldwin novel of the same name about a pregnant Harlem woman whose lover is falsely accused of rape. Production companies are Jenkins’ Pastel company, Brad Pitt’s Plan B, and Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, which is also financing the film.

Phares et Balises Ramps Up TV Drama Production, Expands Into Film (Exclusive)

Phares et Balises, one of France’s top documentary production banners, is expanding its slate of high-profile drama series and moving into feature films.

The Paris-based company, launched 25 years ago by Jean Labib, has partnered up with Alvaro Longoria (“Everybody Knows”) of Spain’s Morena Films and Laura Bickford (“Traffic”) in the U.S. to develop the feature film “The Man Who Loved Dogs,” which “Narcos” helmer Jose Padilha is attached to direct. The English-language project, adapted from Leonardo Padura’s novel, is a multilayered political thriller revolving around the encounter between a struggling Cuban writer and an exiled Spaniard who turns out to be the man who assassinated Leon Trotsky in Mexico City in 1940.

Phares et Balises has also recently hired French veteran producer Marco Cherqui, whose credits include Jacques Audiard’s “A Prophet.” Cherqui is currently developing a roster of ambitious drama series, notably Rebecca Zlotowski’s “Les Sauvages” and Jean-Marc Rudnicki’s “After the Crash

Netflix to Make its First Original Colombian Series

Netflix is wading deep into the Amazon to make its first original Colombian series. To be executive produced by Oscar-nominated Ciro Guerra (“Embrace of the Serpent”), the still-untitled series is based on an original idea by Diego Ramírez Schrempp and Jenny Ceballos of Colombian powerhouse shingle Dynamo. Production is slated to begin summer 2018. The series will debut exclusively on Netflix worldwide in 2019. The eight one-hour series will be shot entirely in 4 K and produced in partnership with Dynamo.

Series tracks a young detective and her partner who travel deep into the Amazon, on the border of Brazil and Colombia, to investigate a series of bizarre murders. They soon realize that there’s more intrigue to the jungle than the homicides, as they come across a mysterious indigenous tribe with an extraordinary secret that they will go to great lengths to protect.

Dynamo and Spiral Co-Producing ‘Falco,’ Re-versioning Germany’s ‘The Last Cop’

German high-concept crime series “The Last Cop” (“Der Letzte Bulle”) is getting a Spanish-language version. Re-titled “Falco,” the new series kicked off principal photography in Mexico on Monday, Nov 20. Mexican helmer-scribe Ernesto Contreras, renowned for his Sundance Film Fest award-winning films “I Dream in Another Language” and “Blue Eyelids,” will direct and showrun the series.

Red Arrow Int’l, a ProSiebenSat 1Media company, licensed the remake rights to Latin American powerhouse shingle Dynamo and Miami-based content distribution company, Spiral Int’l.

“Falco” begins in the year 1994 where Detective Alex Falco, happily married with a newborn child, is shot in the head while out in the field. He ends up in a coma only to regain consciousness in 2018, opening his eyes to a vastly unfamiliar world.

Los Cabos: Colombia’s Dynamo, Spain’s Barrera Pitch TV Thriller Series ‘Penumbra’

Dynamo, the leading Colombian production house behind international hits such as Netflix’s “Narcos,” is teaming with Spanish TV fiction writer-director Pablo Barrera on 17th century-set drama thriller TV series “Penumbra.”

Penumbra” is one of the four TV projects opting for a Gabriel Figueroa TV development award at the 6th edition of Mexico’s Los Cabos Intl. Film Festival.

The series follows Juana, a brilliant Spanish young astronomer who evades the Inquisition and ends up in a Caribbean hell-hole port settlement. To save her life, Juana assumes the identity of a dreaded inquisitor known as Pater Penumbra.

Juana will help Captain Trujillo, the man in charge of the military detachment at the colony, to solve a case of strange ritual murders blighting the place, while battling to keep the secret of her identity.
