Storyline

At the height of popularity of the Bush administration -- the federal government entrapped and subsequently imprisoned Tommy Chong. Josh Gilbert began documenting the federal case against his long time friend and counter-culture icon for the terrible crime of selling bongs. This film examines the personal effects on Tommy, the motivations and tactics of the politicized Justice Department under George Bush, set against the back drop of the War on Drugs and the legal issues involved. Quotes

Alan M. Dershowitz: [On Fox News] The government has admitted that part of the reason for the sentence was the exercise of his First Amendment rights, that is making numerous films about drug use, which they claim encouraged people to use drugs, is a plain violation of the spirit of the First Amendment. So you have an Equal Protection violation, a First Amendment violation, and a needless misuse of criminal resources when easily this could have been done in a civil manner.

Have you ever wondered what 12 million dollars can do? It turns out that 12 million dollars and hundreds of man hours by law enforcement can send a 62 year husband and father with no prior arrests to jail for sending some glass pipes to Pennsylvania. Does that strike you as a good use of taxpayer money??? This is a fascinating movie that all people need to see. Whatever side you are on, you need to see what our so called 'freedom loving' government will do to silence people who don't fit into their cookie cutter lifestyle. Watch this movie and take action. We are long over due for change and our justice system, as clearly shown here, is sadly anything but just.
