Christopher Plummer Earns Golden Globe Nomination for Kevin Spacey 'All the Money in the World' Role

Christopher Plummer Earns Golden Globe Nomination for Kevin Spacey 'All the Money in the World' Role
Christopher Plummer earned a Golden Globe nomination for Ridley Scott's Getty family biopic, All the Money in the World.

The nomination comes as a bit of a surprise considering the actor stepped into the role of J. Paul Getty only last month, after Kevin Spacey was removed from the film.

Initial allegations of sexual misconduct were leveraged against Spacey by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp in October. In an interview with Buzzfeed, Rapp claimed that Spacey came on to him in 1986, when he was just 14 years old. Since then, eight current and former House of Cards employees have come forward claiming that Spacey created a "toxic" work environment on set. He has also been accused of sexual misconduct and assault by several other men. Through his lawyer, Spacey has denied all these allegations.

In addition to being removed from All the Money in the World, Netflix severed all ties with Spacey, including canceling a planned

Justice League passes $600 million worldwide but still the lowest-grossing superhero movie of the year (for now)

It may not have been the box office smash that Warner Bros. would have been hoping for (which, reportedly, has led to a major shakeup at DC Films), but Justice League has ticked off another milestone this weekend with the DC blockbuster passing the $600 million mark worldwide.

By close of play this weekend, Justice League has grossed $212.1 million domestically, and a further $401.3 million worldwide for a total of $613.4 million.

Initial reports had claimed that Justice League would need to bank around $650 million to break even, given its $300 million production budget plus hefty marketing costs. While that’s technically still possible, it will soon have to contend with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is sure to suck the life out of almost every other release over the Christmas period.

Should Justice League fall short of that figure, it would also remain the lowest earner of the DC Extended Universe, with

Steppenwolf actor Ciaran Hinds reportedly unhappy with theatrical cut of Justice League, wants to see Zack Snyder’s version

Since the release of Justice League, Warner Bros. has come in for a lot of criticism for its “Frankenstein” cut of the DC blockbuster, with Joss Whedon having been brought in to oversee extensive reshoots after Zack Snyder was forced to leave the project due to a family tragedy.

So far, a petition for the studio to release a Zack Snyder cut has attracted over 150,000 signatures, while the call has also gained support from cinematographer Fabian Wagner, and now it seems we can also add actor Ciaran Hinds to that list.

According to photographer Jason Laboy, the Steppenwolf actor has revealed that he was unhappy with the final theatrical version of Justice League, and is hoping to see Snyder’s original vision receiving its own release.

@DCFUniverse @DCEUnited @fukujang0627 @SherazFarooqi_ just told me he hopes they release Zack’s cut. He was not happy with the theatrical cut pic.twitter.

Loss leader: can a TV show continue without its main character?

Jeffrey Tambor’s future on Transparent is in doubt after sexual assault allegations, but history proves it’s possible to live on beyond an original lead

Transparent and House of Cards are both noteworthy shows. They are both prestigious. They both helped to prove that streaming services were capable of competing with traditional television. And they both hinged on award-winning turns by big stars, who are now unlikely to feature in any more episodes thanks to stories of their sexual impropriety. The question is, with Kevin Spacey and Jeffrey Tambor potentially out of the picture, can House of Cards and Transparent survive? Can any show, in fact, if the lead character suddenly drops out?

Justice League scenes were shot featuring Superman’s black suit

In the build up to the release of last month’s Justice League, there were several hints and suggestions that Superman’s black suit from the ‘Death of Superman’ story arc would feature in the movie. We had alleged leaked photos, action figures, and even social media posts suggesting as much from the Man of Steel himself Henry Cavill.

Well, as we now know, Superman wore his traditional blue and red costume throughout the movie, but during an interview with Inverse, cinematographer Fabian Wagner has confirmed that there were plans to include the black suit, but it ended up on the cutting room floor.

“There were [scenes shot],” said Wagner. “It’s a cool looking costume. Sadly, we didn’t see that either in the final cut.”

Justice League performance leads to huge DC restructure at Warner Bros.

Justice League might be edging towards $600m at the global box-office, but with Wonder Woman making much more than that on her own, the largely derided Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice nearing $900 million for its entire run, and Marvel’s equivalent superhero mashup, The Avengers topping out at $1.5 billion, there is no other way to view the film than a huge failure. It appears Warner Bros. share the same opinion, and the studio has begun a huge shake-up a mere twenty days after the film hit cinema screens.

Variety is reporting that the first casualty will be Jon Berg, who was ushered in along with Geoff Johns to oversee the the Dceu in the wake of the perceived failure of Suicide Squad and BvS. Variety states that he will leave his advisory role, but remain as a producer. Johns will stay as a chief creative officer with DC Entertainment,

‘House of Cards,’ ‘Transparent,’ ‘Today Show’ and More: A Complete Guide To TV Rocked By Sexual Harassment Scandals

Hollywood’s sexual harassment scandals have had an immediate effect on the industry — and on TV viewers as well. As networks and studios are confronted with allegations of misconduct and assault by their stars, producers, and even executives, heightened publicity has also prevented them from sweeping such news under the rug.

Instead, from morning to primetime, broadcast, cable and streaming services have been faced with making big moves on some of their biggest properties. In the $1 billion morning show competition, both NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “This Morning” fired key anchors. Netflix’s and Amazon’s signature, award-winning dramas are expected to return without their lead stars. Paramount Network planned to launch by leveraging the Weinstein brand — but that strategy is dead. And FX must now rebuild its comedy brand without the producer who inspired much of it.

Justice League has become the highest-grossing DC film in China

In a spot of good news for Justice League, the film has become China’s highest ever grossing DC film.

Justice League hasn’t been performing well at its domestic box office, the high profile superhero blockbuster is currently tracking $100 million behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and over $50 million behind the Dceu’s lowest grosser, Man of Steel (via box office mojo).

However, things are looking better abroad, including in the world’s second biggest market, China.

Justice League has so far accumulated $98 million in the country (a record for DC), putting it ahead of Wonder Woman with $90.5 million, and Batman v Superman’s $95.7 million. Justice League has achieved this in just three weeks.

Of course, this isn’t accounting for inflation and who knows how well films like The Dark Knight would have performed in today’s climate rather than being released before China exploded onto the scene.

Fan petition calls for all-Joss Whedon cut of Justice League

A few weeks back, a petition launched calling for Warner Bros. to release director Zack Snyder’s cut for Justice League, which has now attracted over 150,000 signatures as fan show their support for Snyder’s original vision for the DC blockbuster.

Well, now we have a rival petition, this time requesting an all-Joss Whedon cut of the superhero team-up, although something tells us this one may not be too serious:

“Everyone who saw Justice league can attest to the sheer genius that Joss Whedon brought to the movie. If he had been allowed to bring his entire vision to the screen, the movie would have been that much better. Examples of his touches include “Booya” as uttered by cyborg and the now classic line “My man” that has now become a battle cry by fishermen the world over after Aquaman showed he could speak to fish And quip at the same time.

House of Cards to resume shooting in 2018 without Kevin Spacey

The sixth and final season of House of Cards will resume shooting in early 2018.

After the highly publicised fall from grace of Kevin Spacey, stemming from myriad sexual assault charges and molestation claims, House of Cards has made the decision to resume production on its final season.

Spacey, however, won’t be returning to the Netflix political series, instead House of Cards will return with an eighth episode final season starring Robin Wright.

These changes and the production re-launch – initially suspended after the Spacey scandal broke – were announced by Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos on Monday.

“We are excited to bring closure to fans,” he said, also giving assurance to the production crew whose jobs have been rather uncertain since Spacey was first accused of sexual assault.

Netflix has cut all ties with Spacey, beyond that of writing him out of House of Cards, cancelling the biopic of Gore Vidal

Abandoned Justice League script details have been revealed

Some interesting details have emerged regarding the plot of an abandoned Justice League screenplay.

The current Justice League playing in cinemas hasn’t been the only attempt to bring such a film to life; in fact, Warner Bros were trying to make the film back in 2011, before the Dceu even got under way.

The Wrap has gotten a hold of a draft from the scrapped movie and has shared some rather interesting details pertaining to the film’s plot and characters.

The Wrap reports that “Batman and Wonder Woman have a son, Aquaman is nowhere in sight, Darkseid enslaves Superman, and Hawkman and Green Lantern team up in space.”

‘Dark’ Season 2: Series Creators on Where Things Could Go and the Show’s Crazy Family Trees
[Editor’s Note: The following interview contains spoilers for the first season of the Netflix series “Dark.”]

If you spent all weekend watching “Dark,” you probably have a few questions.

Writer Jantje Friese and director Baran bo Odar are the creative engines behind “Dark,” the latest Netflix release to spawn a bevy of message board parsing and theory-fueled online chatter. It’s the kind of show where answering one question means raising a handful more, all the way up until Season 1’s final moments, where a young woman offers up Jonas (and the audience) a simple, menacing invitation to what patterns would dictate might be the year 2052: “Welcome to the future.”

So, what will come after that season-closing literal knockout?

In an interview with IndieWire, Friese and Odar explained that any plans for the show going forward will have their roots in how the pair navigated the labyrinth of Season 1. (Hint: it involved a lot of Post-It notes.)

“It was all mapped out, but in the

Robin Wright Will Lead Final Season of “House of Cards”

Wright in “House of Cards”: David Giesbrecht/Netflix

Claire Underwood has finally made it to the White House. According to The New York Times, “House of Cards’” sixth season will center on Robin Wright’s character, who inherited the presidency after her husband resigned at the end of Season 5. Season 6, the series’ last, will consist of eight episodes.

When “House of Cards” premiered in 2013 Claire was presented as a political spouse who was just as ambitious and ruthless as her husband, Frank (Kevin Spacey). Throughout the series she evolved into a politician in her own right as she and Frank engaged in power struggles with their foes — and each other.

“We’re really excited about bringing some closure to the show for fans,” Netflix’s chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, stated. “We’re excited for the 370 people who make ‘House of Cards’ and have done the best work of

‘The Usual Suspects’ Reportedly Stopped Filming Due to Kevin Spacey’s ‘Sexually Inappropriate Behavior’

‘The Usual Suspects’ Reportedly Stopped Filming Due to Kevin Spacey’s ‘Sexually Inappropriate Behavior’
Kevin Spacey’s “inappropriate sexual behavior” on the set of Bryan Singer’s “The Usual Suspects” forced production to be halted, Gabriel Byrne has revealed in a new interview with The Sunday Times. Byrne says he was not aware until years later the actual reason filming was halted but admitted to there being rumors about Spacey’s behavior, to which many people on set joked, “That’s Kevin.”

“I did not know honestly then the extent of his violence,” Byrne told The Times. “I mean, he was kind of a joke in that people would say, ‘That’s Kevin,’ but nobody really understood the depth of his predations. It was only years later that we began to understand that [filming] was closed down for a particular reason and that was because of inappropriate sexual behavior by Spacey.
